“Cozy small hotel on the hill overlooking English Harbour”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 May 2011

We stayed here for two nights after a week of sailing around Antigua. It has an excellent view of the harbor from the outdoor deck / dining area. Nice and quiet with a small pool. The grounds are lush with fruit and nut bearing trees, plants and flowers. A bountiful breakfast is served buffet style each morning. There is a bar near the pool that operates on the honor system. Robert was very helpful from our initial email inquiry to the day we left. He made us feel like family. The Ocean Inn was the perfect tranquil setting for us after a full week of sailing. Thanks, Robert!

“Fantastic Place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 April 2011

We stayed at the Ocean Inn for just over a week and couldn't fault it. The views from pretty much everywhere are fantastic and Robert and all the staff are all really helpful.
The Inn itself is split between rooms and small cottages, of which we stayed on a small cottage which was lovely, its not the Ritz but thats not what I wanted and I personally prefer the charm of that. Moreover there are a vast number of wrist band wearing resorts you could go to if thats your thing.
Overall the whole atmosphere, location and facilities were and are top notch I could not praise the Ocean Inn to much.

“A perfect view and wonderful oasis”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 March 2011

We arrived at the Ocean Inn - during a quiet week - just before the next scheduled sailing regattas which will surely fill up this Inn again rapidly.
We had a choice of rooms all with balcony or deck overlooking English Bay - and Nelsons Dockyard. The room was spacious and comfortable. Although the rooms are air conditioned mozzies can be a problem and the double bed offered a mosquito net.
The lounge and breakfast area again have a beautiful view of the harbor and are frequently visited by colorful small birds.
The hotel is only a short walk from Nelsons Dock yard and several restaurants and little shops. Robert the current manager/owner inherited the place from his father - who dedicated his life to the Hotel. His father died only a few years ago. I can well believe that the Inn has many regular repeat visitors. Mostly from the UK.
We can highly recommend this inn - - the pool is small - so do not expect big hotel type comforts - just a very relaxed and comfortable (mostly quiet) place to stay.
There is no Restaurant but a generous buffet continental breakfast is available from 7.30 to 11:00 AM
We have been fooled before by fancy photos and web site - but in this case the web site is a true reflection of what you will find. A gem - in our book and we will be back.

“A perfect mother/daughter getaway trip!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 March 2011

The Ocean Inn is a relaxing quiet setting in which to get away from it all. Our host Robert was most helpful in anything we needed. Our room #6 was very clean with the most awesome pillows in which to sleep on after a day on the beach watching the sailboats come and go. Breakfast included great coffee, fruit and different pastries. The only thing missing was protein of some sort. I bought a small jar of peanut butter from the harbor store and made my own protein with PB toast/bananas. Every staff member was so friendly esp. Doreen and Mr. Brooks. Mr. Brooks gave us a great tour of the many fruit trees/plants on site. The pool is a great ending to the day where you can raid the honesty bar.
We spent alot of time in the harbor area taking in the feel of the yachting world. Great places to eat are the Pizzeria, the Mexican restaurant and Trappas. Our best time was spent ziplining through the rainforest which Robert arranged for us on the spur of the moment. Not to be missed! We also enjoyed Nelson's Dockyard. Great history and a Colonial Williamsburg feel to it. There are a few small places to eat there with great atomosphere. Our trip into St. Johns via city bus ($3.75) was fun for a day trip but the Harbor is where we felt more at home. We enjoyed being part of the laid back, no frills atmosphere the Harbor has to offer. We would definitely stay at the Ocean Inn again, a most enjoyable trip for both of us.

“Loved peaceful Ocean Inn”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2011

We loved our week at Ocean Inn, which allowed us to have a quiet setting above the harbor, but also a 4-minute walk down the hill to many restaurants and activities. When we were delayed one day due to a missed connection, Robert upgraded us upon arrival. It was a very kind thing to do. Staff is very friendly and available if you have questions. It was a delight to wake up each morning, grab a cup of coffee in the dining room and watch the harbor wake up below! Sheets and towels are very high quality with a comfortable bed. Shirley's Heights lookout is a nice 50-minute walk along some quiet back roads behind Ocean Inn. We'd love to go back!
