“Hell Hole Hotel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 November 2011

We were allocated to this Hotel by a Virgin cancelled flight. All I can say about this place is I was waiting for the camera's to appear and say "Got you". Upon arriving fellow passengers were arguing with the night porter who did not have a clue what he was doing and was not the least bit interested in us, upon him phoning the supervisor we were told he refused to come out.
Fellow passengers were coming back down to reception to ask for towels, light bulbs etc. My family were very distressed to be allocated a room No 217 that had the ceiling on the floor water comping in, the bed legs was broken and the mattress had all kinds of stains on it, no linen and a floor that had not seen a sweep for a long time. When we complained we were just laughed at. The ladies in the group were very upset, we did not know where we were, it was 2am local teenagers were hanging around and one was asleep in reception (i do have a photo to add at a later date). Another passenger left with us when we spent an hour phoning other hotels to find somewhere to stay and eventually another Hotel sent a taxi for us. We had no assistance from either Virgin or Thomas Cook, we felt totally isolated and alone in a foreign country.

“Clean and friendly”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 November 2011

I was here in dec. 2010 for two nights. This was my third stay in this place. It is very convienent to the shopping down town, where the ships come in. But it is not where to stay for beaches. The rooms are large and clean, but appeared to have been decorated many years ago. The resturaunt serves good food but is not always open. Sometimes you have to wait. Two of the loca Rotary International clubs meet here, one at noon and one at night. Internet service is touch and go. Sometimes you get it and sometimes you don't.

Room Tip: If you have a room on the street side it can get a little noisy.

“Simple but okay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 October 2010

Stayed there for 1 night. As most reviews state, the rooms are (very) big. Actually a bit too big. The distance from the bed to the flat screen TV is so big that you have to strain to see what's on. What I liked best about the hotel is it's very central location. You can walk right into town. What I liked second best is the very friendly staff. No complaint whatsoever. And the WIFI internet worked perfectly fine. The breakfast included in the price of the stay is very simple and could be a bit more exciting. But all in all, staying at this hotel is not too bad at all.

“Comfortable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 December 2009

This was my second time staying at the Hotel.
The Hotel is more suited as a travelling for business purposes.
There is not much of a view from the Hotel, except for the roofs of near-by houses.
There isnt a pool, however there is a gym.
The food is tasty but not Great.
Room was clean, free WiFi and a Kitchenette, flat screen Tv witha small balcony.
When checking out, staff usually move a bit slow, so make sure you are never in a hurry.
The front desk is not always reliable on doing wake-up calls, so set your personal alarm.
But I would stay there again.

“City View? More like Sh*tty View!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 August 2009

5 of us were 'bumped' off our LIAT flight due to an ongoing pilots' strike. After much argument, the airline agreed to accommodate us overnight. About 10 others were staying there for the same reason and it took *ages* to check us all in.

The rooms are large and have kitchen facilities, but are shabby, dark and dated. The view we had was of the laundry area. Walls. Machinery. Lines of drying towels.

We'd arranged an early breakfast so we could catch the first flight out, but it took *forever* to get the paperwork sorted so we could check out. Each meal had to be signed for with one receipt in the restaurant, then another document signed for at the reception desk. The staff just couldn't be rushed.

My tip: Allow *plenty* of time for the great god paperwork.
