“Very hard to fault this one”

Beds were superb in our recently refurbished suite.

Everything worked from start to finish (mind you we were out of season so the ratio of guest to staff was on our side). We wanted a complete rest and so kept pretty much to ourselves making few demands but those that we did make were met fully by charming and seemingly sincere staff. We enjoyed midnight cycles around the island in complete safety, enjoying the seclusion and privacy of this small and beautifully maintained island resort. That the hotel is owned by the Island Company which in turn is owned by individuals with private villas (many in the tens of millions of dollars bracket) on the Island explains why service and accommodation are of a very high standard.

Just one negative, some of the external air conditioning units are adjacent to the patio of the next door suite and should be relocated away to reduce noise.

Room Tip: Quiet suites facing the ocean are at the far side of the bay west of the main pool.

“Best Caribbean Vacation”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

Our stay at Jumby Bay was, by far, the best Caribbean vacation that my wife and I have ever experienced. After a hectic arrival at the airport in Antiqua we were taken for a short ferry ride to Jumby Bay Island. From that moment on the accommodations, food and service were all first class. The other guests and island homeowners, who frequent the resort facilities, were very friendly. The staff was very attentive without being overly so. We are looking forward to a return trip.

“Can't wait to return”

The start of our stay at Jumby Bay was not exactly auspicious. Our first room was disappointing – our fault as we should have pre-checked that it was one of the older Rondovals with a shower but no bathtub (an essential for my wife) and rather dark – and the food initially was not of the standard we expect at a five star resort. But you can judge a company – or a resort – by how it puts things right. And by that criterion Jumby Bay is incomparable. The management, from Andrew Hedley (the managing director) down, and all the staff without exception could not have done more for us - and always with a winning smile. A special mention for Melinda (guest relations) who looked after us so well. We were immediately upgraded to a magnificent suite – large, beautifully appointed, private pool and gorgeous views. The food also improved as if by magic, and after the first day we never looked back. The service everywhere was excellent and the staff really seemed to care.

The resort is on its own island – 300 acres of manicured lawns and shrubs and wonderful beaches – and must be one of the most beautiful in the Caribbean.

We were there for only five days as we had already booked to travel on to Sandy Lane in Barbados, but we wished we could have stayed longer. We plan to return next year and for a longer stay. Can’t wait.

Room Tip: Any room except Rondaval

Words alone cannot substantiate the beauty of Jumby bay. My wife and I celebrated our fourth anniversary as well as last hoorah before baby # 2 comes along. The staff, the beach, the food...everything was amazing. I only wish I can go back in time and have been married on the beach in Jumby bay! Hint: splurge on a room with a pool, it is very romantic! We spent two days without ever leaving the room ( villa)

“A Dream Trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

I rented a Villa for a surprise birthday trip for my husband, three other couples were also invited. The staff was wonderful from the moment we landed! Some of our group were very active and enjoyed all the water activities. I wanted an all inclusive property but I was concerned about the food. The quality of the food surpassed my expectations! We have traveled a great deal but I don't think I have ever encountered such a warm and hospitable staff. This is a wonderful place to relax! We will return in the future.

Room Tip: We rented Sandy Cove Villa for a group. The new suites near the Pool Grill look wonderful
