Lloyds is one of those family-run places where the owners have succeeded in establishing a tradition and manage to keep up the standards. What I liked most is the breakfast table which brings together all the guests. Wonderfully stimulating conversations with other travellers are the effect.

My wife and I were participating in an underwater archaeology project around Anguilla and elected to stay at Lloyd's rather than the free accommodations provided to us. What a lovely place! Clean, well decorated small rooms with new a/c, a living room/dining area that is also newly refurbished, and places to just kick back on the porch or sun deck. A full breakfast (you order what you want) comes with the room. Very friendly folks. Several of the guests make Lloyd's their home for months at a time.

Lloyd's is on Crocus Hill. A 5 minute walk down the hill takes you to Crocus Bay, which has a beautiful beach, clear blue water, and a good restaurant. Crocus Bay was the historic anchorage for this part of the island, so there is a bit of history here also. If you like to snorkel, there is ship wreckage in shallow water near the west end of the Bay about 200 yards from the restaurant.

For Anguilla, the price is low, particularly considering what yo get.

I can't say enough good things about this place, but I will try!

After having a few issues with other hotels in Anguilla, we stumbled across Lloyds B&B - and I am so glad we did!

Lloyds is well down the lower end of the price scale in Anguilla, but is not lacking in anything. Although it is not located right on a beach, we found that to be a great excuse to hire a car and explore the entire island. This is a must - every beach on Anguilla is beautiful. We saw many people come and stay saying "No we're just going to walk, we don't need a car" but soon enough they hired one. You really need a car in Anguilla!
Crocus bay is a few minutes walk from Lloyds and is beautiful, but it is a VERY steep and tiring walk back up the hill so we were lazy and drove down.

The staff at Lloyd's are second to none. They are extremely friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast is cooked for you every morning. Eggs, Bacon, Sausage, toast, fruit, and on Tuesday's they cook pancakes. They can give you beach towels, you are welcome to use the phone for local calls, and can use their internet whenever you need to. There are only a few staff members, one of whom has been there 20 years.

The rooms are not fancy, but are lovely. They are clean, comfortable, and are decorated beautifully with Caribbean charm. The bathrooms are a good size and are clean. We loved our room and had no issues there at all. They even have cable TV.

Lloyd's is just fabulous. I could go on forever about the good things about it. There really is nothing bad about it, unless of course you really feel the need to stay right on the beach. But if not, then skip the fancy resorts and other over priced accomodation, and book in to Lloyd's. You'll love it.
