We have visited Anguilla 22 times in the past 23 years and all things considered, this is the best value we have encountered.

We have stayed here the past three years and are booked for two weeks next year. Not much to add to the other review -- we had the middle floor while they had the upper and lower -- except that the spaciousness is unbelievable. I think each apartment is around 3,500 square feet, and each has its own wide veranda completely surrounding the building. We spend a lot of time on the veranda reading and enjoying the spectacular view of Crocus Bay.

You will need a car, but a car is a "must" for Anguilla, anyway. With more than 30 beautiful beaches, you don't want to limit yourself.

If you insist on being right on a beach, or you want a restaurant on the premises, obviously this is not for you. And if you have a problem with stairs, you should be sure to book the ground floor.

Chrissy Brooks is wonderful to deal with -- she now has her own car rental agency -- and the Web site gives a full and accurate perspective of the place.

Island View Brooklands Apartments are situated in the Valley at the highest point of the island overlooking Crocus Bay. The view is to die for. Each night the sailboats and catamarans anchor in the bay and we would watch another fabulous Anguilla sunset. We rented the 1st floor and the top floor. It was ideal for our family holiday. The apartments are situated in a residential area with easy access to both sides of the island.

Each large apartment is situated on a separate floor and each has a 360 degree round veranda so sun or shade is always available; plus it provides beautiful views over the island and the ocean. If it was raining, we were able to sit outside and wait for the next beautiful rainbow.

Each apartment has a large dining room, three bedrooms (not all bedrooms have air conditioning), two baths, a separate equipped kitchen (there is not dishwasher,if that is important), a large living room and a fabulous view! A washer and dryer in the basement with a pay dryer make it easy to do laundry. There is also a clothes line. Daily maid service is not included. We did hire a maid for weekly cleaning because we were there for three weeks. There is internet access, although not wireless. It works very well. We did not use the air during our visit. I do not think there is air on the ground floor. The master bedroom has it on the second floor. Two of the bedrooms on the top floor have it.

It is a short steep walk down to the beach but be prepared, the walk back up is true cardio. Renting a car is a must. If you are not able to climb stairs, you should stay on the bottom floor.
The view is great from all floors. We have stayed on all three floors over the years and they are almost identical except for the air conditioning. This was our fifth visit and we are booked for 2010 for three weeks.

We like to cook in and spend family time together. There is a small TV in the living room with ample stations. There was also a radio, CD player for music.

If you are independent, do not need fancy resort facilities with all the amenities, and want an economical place to stay, this might be the place for you. Remember, this is not for folks who want to be waited on, it is independent island living. Be prepared for roosters crowing and goats visiting in the neighborhood.
