“Christmas in heaven”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2011

I stayed at Faralya Hotel from Christmas Eve until 27th December
Had a very relaxing time mainly reading, walking and eating
The staff are incredible and the food second to none
Breakfast alone consisted of almost 3 courses! Porridge with a selection of raisins, nuts, honey etc followed by traditional Turkish breakfast of cheese, tomatoes, olives and wonderful local spelt wrap like bread followed by a hot egg dish
Lunch was soup with more lovely bread followed by hot vegetable dishes
Dinner was soup, followed by fish and calamari with lots of veg and salad on one night and soup followed by chicken with lots of veg and salad the other night
Great value at £44 per night full board, my only other expense was a few large Efes at 5TL a bottle
There are waymarked trails around from easy to difficult, something for everyone
There is a also a yoga platform and a lovely resident husky dog
If you like loud music, dancing waiters and tourist tat shops stay away but if you like to relax in wonderful surroundings and eat delicious food I highly recommend this hotel

“Beautiful Views”

I had to escape from Yuva Lodge, which is a few miles south down the road and stayed at Faralya hotel for two days. Murat and his coworker were very welcoming, and I felt better right away. The room I stayed was bright , very clean and had a beautiful view, Hotel has a pool and its very serene to lounge and watch the sunset.
The food was amazing, fresh, tasty, and I assume from their organic garden. I loved the grapes smiling on your face hanging in the dining area. Also they make the best homemade tahini (sesame oil) and mulberry jam.

“Very peaceful but remote”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 September 2010

I agree with all previous reviews but must add that this hotel is remote and expensive in comparison with all oher accommodation we stayed at in Turkey. It is a wonderful retreat but you have two options when getting there and back - expensive taxi transfers or waiting for the infrequent mini buses.
It is a great starting point for many wonderful walks, the breakfast was delicious but it was the only hotel where we were required to pay a 50% deposit when booking and the management insisted we pay for all accommodation when we decided to check out early. In the end a compromise was reached. I do think for the price plugs in basins could be provided and our bed was small to say the least. Even if total peace and quiet is what you are after the price is very high.

“The hidden gem of our Antalya to Faralya road trip.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 July 2010

I was tempted not to write a reveiw in order to keep this place all to ourselves and select friends, but I couldn't possibly do that to Murat and his team. We came across this hotel on our drive back from Kabak when the main consideration was that the hotel for the night MUST have a pool. But as soon I spoke to Murat and was shown the room we were to stay in, I knew this place was going to be a lovely unpretentious spot of heaven. The sunset from the terrace is beautiful and it was wonderful to see the night stars plus Venus, Mars and Saturn. The 3 course dinner (no choices, just what has been home made that night) was excellent and plentiful. As was the breakfast (we even had freshly made pita bread!)

We left the next morning for Kayakoy which in the end turned out to be nothing like my memories of it from 8 years ago. I called Murat immediately to see if he still had a room available for us for another 2 nights. Murat gave us the response we were anxious to hear .... "you're room is waiting for you". On our return we were greeted with such a lovely welcome, we knew we had made the right choice to come back.

Our room was very comfortable with en suite and aircon. The mosque isn't too close to the hotel so the dawn call to prayer is quite muted. We spent 2 awesome afternoons lazing abou the pool. Most (if not all) the vegetables and fruit come from their own garden which is tended to with loving care. Dinner even had people staying in houses / villa's nearby coming for the tasty treats.

The Faralya Hotel is Turkish hospitality at its best.

“A fantastic, tranquil, incredibly welcoming spot to keep going back to!”

We discovered Faralya Hotel by surprise, on a beautiful, unspoilt stretch of coastline just a few kilometers beyond crowded and touristic Olü Deniz. It had an immediate appeal: tasteful and simple, with various attractive little corners to sit and relax. From the first minute, we were struck by the extraordinary friendliness of Murat, the day-to-day manager, and all other members of the small Turkish team running the place, headed by Attila and his wife Caroline. The views of the coastline from the terrace-with-pool and from our (simple but clean, pleasant and spacious) room were just gorgeous. Faralya Hotel is a h(e)aven not only for those practising yoga, but also for anyone who loves nature and tranquility. We spent more than five full days at Faralya and not for a minute did we experience a disruption in the peacefulness of the place. And there are some added advantages: the wonderful (mostly vegetarian) traditional Turkish food served every night, prepared with great care; the opportunity to talk extensively about life in Turkey and Turkish cuisine with the family; the proximity of the Lycian Way, the famous long-distance walking trail along the Mediterranean Coast; the easy access to some quiet rocky 'beach', great for swimming. Though Faralya Hotel is situated more uphill, the same family runs the lovely Yuva Eco-Holiday centre right on the seashore.

Warm aanbevolen!
