“Best holiday ever, sheer paradise, a priviliged expereience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 September 2010

We travelled in June with EE for 2 weeks for a 2 centre holiday. We were advised (in our opinion wrongly) to stay at BY fiirst due to its remoteness, we felt that the hotel we stayed at after a, although lovely could not live up to BYF. We only wished we had stayed there for 2 weeks. The setting, the food, the ambience, service were absolutely perfect, completely away from the crowds and civilisation. We are normally the type of people who like to expereince various eating places in back streets of charming buzzing towns and villages, at BY F there is none of this, but we did not miss it. Last year we holidayed with EE in Kalkan, again a fabulous holiday with all that we would normally want, but in our opinion BYF holds it's own unrivalled position. The rooms are effectively stone huts adeqately and charmingly furnished. The shower rooms are a little antiquated and would benefit from a makeover, but this is rustic shabby chic so I suppose what is to be expected. The whole hotel is kept pristine, an extremely arduous task given the surrounding environment. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff. Yavos, the manager is ery accomodating and anxiious to please nothing being too much trouble.

We went on the Dalyan Delta trip with EE, highly recommended, a fabulous day out, extremely good value with the most fabulous 3 course lunch at a riverside restaurant. We were the only couple on the trip and so had the whole boat to ourselves- absolute luxury and all for £29 each We lost count of how many turtles we saw. We can not wait to return there again next year

“Remote, idyllic, laid back - but feels like home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 August 2010

We wanted to get away from *everything*. At Beyaz Yunus we found a place where the night sky is properly dark, where no traffic can be heard, where the sea breeze catches the terraces and dining room enough to soften the (very intense) August sun. The manager was charming, couldn't do enough to make us feel relaxed and welcome (even having dinner, on the open air cliff-top terrace, ready for us on very late night arrival).

The food is excellent (and very plentiful) - wonderful breakfasts (omelettes, pancakes, fresh and preserved fruits, cereals, yoghurt, honey, bread, cheeses and olives...). Much of the food is from the hotel garden, or local. The dinners are set three-course feasts - one can ask to swap something in advance, if the menu doesn't suit.

The grounds are quite extensive, and lavishly tended (lots of 'wow' plants, bananas, avocados...); the loungers and deckchairs are arranged around and about in a way that makes it possible for guests to see no-one all day, if they want, but there are (I think) only 7 rooms, so in fact it never feels crowded.

There are lovely walks locally (we did one very long and quite arduous one, and one short one to a nearby cove to swim); there are paths down the cliff to rocky swimming places (crystal clear water). The pool is not huge, but just right for a cooling dip (and there's an open-air shower).

The rooms are quite spacious, with a reasonable sized bathroom (shower only, no bath). The beds are large and comfy, and beds and rooms are cleaned/tidied every day, with full changes of towels etc every couple of days. Each room (they're like little chalets) has a terrace or patio, although we hardly used ours, there were so many places to sit and relax. Our room had a fridge and safe (don't know about others, but assume so).

One day we watched the cook making flat bread on the open air griddle; on Fridays a masseuse visited (advance booking); every day there was a different 'cake' at tea-time. The outdoor bar area (with 'honesty bar') was idyllic in the sunset hours - and we met some really interesting people. It was our best fortnight's 'total holiday' ever.

“A Low-Key, Relaxing & Peaceful Retreat”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 November 2009

This hotel used to be called Oyster Residences as did its sister hotel a few miles along the coast in Olu Deniz. Reviews of these hotels have been mixed-up on Tripadvisor, but both hotels are now under the (same) new management and re-named.
Beyaz Yunus Faralya is accessed via an unmade (very unmade!) road which plunges through a pine forest to a clearing by the waters edge.
There are only 7 rooms - simple bungalows skirting a vegetable garden looking toward the sea. The coastline along here is very attractive - see pictures.
All 7 rooms are sold through Exclusive Escapes in UK so fellow guests are all likely to be British. There are walks through the woods in both directions along the coast - the one hour walk to The Olive Tree restaurant above the beach at Kabak is particularly recommended.
This is not a place for people who like the creature comforts & the amenities of a 4 or 5 Star hotel. It has the remote feel of a retreat. The food is good, but variable - breakfasts are uniformly excellent. There is no beach as such here, just a rocky foreshore accessed by steps at either end of the property - but it is possible to swim in the nicely protected area in front of the hotel. The Manager (Yalcin) is also low-key and relaxed and speaks the perfect English of a man who has worked for Dutch companies all his life (Philips & Shell) - he was a mine of useful information without the usual tourist bull.
Eating on the terrace a few feet above the crashing waves was delightful - when it rained (as it does in October!) there is however nowhere under cover to eat or drink. Emergency crowding into the small kitchen area wasn't a joy.
If you are after a low-key, relaxing, peaceful retreat which will feel miles from anywhere, this could be for you - but luxury it's not and once here 'popping-out' is not easy.

“my version of perfect hideaway...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 July 2009

Oyster and I got acquainted in 2008 for the first time. Since then, "she" has been the place i always longed to return whenever life seemed to pace too fast. Yes, Oyster has such a character that i could only give her human attributes to describe her..She's like a fine wine, full bodied & spicey, hidden by enchanting olive trees and wild flowers, a well tended garden in a beautiful nonchalant way that doesn't scream "don't touch me! just look from afar"...I am in love with nature and I was immediately attracted to Oyster's green charm. The entire place oozes understated elegance. Rooms have all different characters, all immaculately clean and comfortable...my favorite ones are the sun decked ones (perfect for lounging in private) and the one with a patio hidden under a canopy of grapevines overlooking the pool...The staff takes good care of you without being pushy and they have this unforced, natural smile on their faces throughout the day. Oyster has a very good kitchen as well. My favorite meal of the day is breakfast and here, i can't wait to have eggs with sundried tomatoes & fresh mint or a "menemen" (turkish style scrambled eggs with sliced tomatoes, green pepper etc..) Oyster is like an oasis in the middle of the liveliest, hippest strip on Oludeniz, just meters away from the turquoise sea. Once I enter the "realm" of the Oyster, i leave behind the busybee beach & beach bars and step into my "hideaway", may it be to lounge around the pool, or enjoy a drink and a good book in a hammock nestled under one of those gorgeous olive trees...The entire place ows its character to a very special woman, her "mother" Gunsenin, whom you cannot ignore with her lively, fiery, very friendly nature. Gun's creative hands and mind are always on Oyster and you may be amused to find yourself thinking of her as part of family after a single visit to Oyster...

“Very good hotel with great location!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 July 2009

My wife and I stayed at the Oyster Residences last month for one night only but we liked this place. The room was very spacious with all the amenities you would expect and a beautiful outdoor terrace. The restaurant was also very good.
