I have just got back from a fab 2 weeks Holiday where we stayed in the Atlantik Hotel. Apartments are basic but clean. Maid cleans everyday and is always there if you need help or if you ask her to clean she will so no need to buy your own cleaning equipment!!!
The staff are second to none. Harry is a laugh a minute and yes he likes a gossip but by no means does he mean anything maliciously. We spent several nights watching TV (So the arial does work) and having a laugh. Boris the Manager is the most genuine Turkish man i have ever met and cannot do eniough for you.
We had a hurricane while we was there, which is no-ones fault bar him up above! The pool did have debris in but spoke to Boris who cleaned it up as soon as the storm passed.
I will book this hotel next year as believe me i have stayed in worse!
If you want to have a good time then this is the hotel for you.

i have also just returned from the atlantik and thoroughly enjoyed my stay there the only fault i could find with my room was the shower head had fell off the wall. turkish people are allowed to stay in turkish hotels as we do in hotels in our country, i have been to turkey for ten years running and most of the receptions are run the same way as this one. as for some of the statements that are put on here they should pay for a five star hotel if that what the want.also i want to say that harry was the nicest,helpful most pleasant turk i have met.
i look forward to staying there next year.

We stayed at the atlantic for one week at the end of September, thank god it was only one week. We loved Altinkum and would return, but not to the Atlantic. Everyday we got up and went out before 10am,we would returnto shower (if you cold call the trickle of water a shower) change and go out again until we had to return to get into the dreaded dirty looking beds, they squeked every time you turned over, we daren't take the sheet off because if the matresses were as dirty as we feared we would not have been able to get in them again.

Not that we got much sleep, our room was at the front of the hotel and the road and bar opposite were noisy until the early hours, one night a couple were lauging and talking until 5am, the sound seemed to intensify in the bedroom (thank godfor ear plugs). We had no option but to sleep with the windows open, the only air conditioning was in the lounge, why?
Now we go into the bathroom, dirty is the only was to describe it, the toilet bowl, well I don't know how long you would have to not use bleach for it to end up looking as it did.

We also saw Turkish people staying only one night, we slept with the dining table behind the door.

We never went outside to the pool area, I don't think we could have eated or drank in the place knowing the rooms were so dirty. The kitchen was not the best, this also just didn't look very clean, there was a nice new kettle, an old rusting fridge, a very greasy sandwich maker and a motley collection of crockery. The TV in the lounge area did not have an aerial, so that also was useless.

Perhaps some people think because the holiday was cheap £650 for two people, that this excuses the shabiness of the rooms, but there is no excuse for dirty rooms, grey sheets and towels that frankly look as though they have been left by other guests, if they can't afford cleaners then they shouldn't be open.

Despite all this we did have a lovely holiday spent mostly on the lovely beach and in the Toy bar, where the owners and staff are very, very clean lovely people, fantastic food.

Whoever inspects these properties for travel companies deserves the sack!!!

I have just returned from my first visit to Turkey and stayed at the Atlantik for 2 weeks. Yes the place is basic, but I understand that the Hotel is rented from the owner who refuses to make repairs. During our stay we encountered one of the worst storms I have ever I have ever experienced and of course most of Altinkum was devastated. After a massive clean up things slowly returned to normal. The pool at the Atlantik was filled with debris of all kinds and one of the guests said they had seen a mouse which turned out to be bread which had been swept into it by the storm. The staff were absolutely brilliant and could not do enough for you.
The main one singled out for praise is a guy called Harry who went all the way to make our stay a pleasant one, he could not have been more helpful,an absolute gent. Harry worked very long hours and was always on hand with a joke and assistance.
I would definetly return to this hotel as the staff and the experience actually made our holiday. If the owner got their fingers out and did what was needed then this hotel would always be fully booked.
