“enjoyed my one week stay”

We stayed at this lovely Hotel at the seaside of Altinkum Beach in August 2011 together with my 6 year old daughter and wife. The price was quite OK for what they offer. The meals were alright. The tea service and pizza servises between lunch and dinner times helped us to overcome with my daughter's continuous wishes to eat and drink. The staff were very friendly. The pool bar staff enjoyed our stay especially with their every night kids animations.Since it is just a three star Hotel,we weren't expecting much,so it was quite Ok .

“70s Built Hotel in need of a lot of T.L.C”

We arrived at 2am the hotel was in darkness and after travelling for 6 hours we arked if we could get a soft drink or tea / coffe etc and were told no nothing untill 7am. At 2.30 am we then had to wander around a resort that we did not know to find a bar that was open to buy drinks :-(. The room we had been given was facing the rear of the hotel opposit a bank of bins and gas bottles and a gravel road that was noisy and in constant use by locals day and night. Other british guests had also been given these rooms at the rear of the hotel and the week we stayed there were only about 20 couples staying. The hotel has about 130 rooms so there was no shortage of rooms with a better view, on investigation of changing rooms the hotel staff wanted £56 to change rooms! The food was ok but was pretty much the same most days, salad , rice, chicken etc. Warm food was served hot but as they did not switch on the bain marie's the food got cold very quickly. There was plenty of food for everyone though. The rooms are ok but simple and showing signs of age. The bathroom was not good at all dirty and smelly and it was tiny to be totally honest it was pretty disgusting The room was cleaned most days although the towels and sheets were pretty old towels had holes and sheets were stained. The general condition of the rooms and bathrooms are a lot less than you would get in low end motorway service station holel in the U.K. The general feel of the hotel is dated and in need of renovation and repair in most areas, lots of simple things like bulbs out but it just goes to show the owners dont really seem to care about the place. Public areas were dusty for days on end. The staff did as little as they could to be helpfull and you almost feel as if they do not like british visitors in their hotel. The pool is VERY VERY small and again the pool area and the toilets have not escaped the general neglect of the place. There are A LOT of strey cats and dogs that are all around the hotel and pool side and these animals are not pets they are strey animals looking for food. They offen fight with each other and while we were there a kitten was attacked by other cats at the pool side and later died. A kitten was also attacked by three dogs again at the pool side. This would not be a safe place for very young children becaused of this. The beach was very dirty and un-kept, there is alot of general rubbish on it, cans, fag butts, glass, plastic bags as well as animal droppings. We were very lucky that during our stay that the weather was good but had it not been good weather there would not have been anything to do at the hotel. This would not be a good place for children as there really is nothing for them to do. There aslo was no entertainment at any point during our stay although the brochure did state that there would be. So conclusion we made the best of it and met some nice people while staying there but it was not in any way what I would have expected from booking from a large high street holiday company. This is the first time that I have ever filled out one of these sort of reviews but felt that I needed to to inform others. This hotel is not like they have made it out in the brochures.

Room Tip: Rooms at the rear of the hotel are noisy and near bins that are collected early most days.

what i disaster from start to finish i wouldnt wish this trip on my worst enemy.we arrived about 1.30am were told we couldnt get a drink until 7am .the bellboy sneaked one for us.the room was very basic ,not the cleanest but we thought it will do just for somewhere to lay our head.Next day what an eye opener there were cats yes cats in the restaurant where we were to eat, they were coming out of an unused food trolley that was at one side of the restaurant. The food was the same each day they must have had 1001 recipes of what to do with chicken.the soup was nice cant believe i am using the word nice in this sentence but yes it was nice just aired and not hot.the beach was disgusting outside the tuntas there was glass, cigarette stubs ,fag lighter,a dirty used sanitary towel, dog faeces,do i need to say anymore.there was no entertainment at all,no bingo,or disco,no entertainers of any kind to entertain us.when it was daddys dayin turkey the restaurant had lots of turkish people came in and then our music was switched off to accomodate them, they even had different food to us,theres looked better than ours.some of the waiters we felt sorry for them they worked long ours but majority of them were nice, just a few not so nice.i wouldnt rate this hotel anything more than a 1star rating.

I dont usually do reveiws but........ Before we went I was so worried after reading some of these! we arrived at 4.30 am and were met by two lovely young men who took us to a smallish clean room. The sheets were clean and we were too tired to look for faults. In the morning we were pleased to see a nice veiw overlooking the pool n sea. Our bathroom was small but clean. Our room was cleaned daily n bed changed 3 times in a week towels every second day but daily on request. The food to b honest wasnt great but we had stayed at a 5* in altinkum last year n the food there was pretty much the same, salad, pasta, rice nchicken. We did eat out most nights but for what our holiday cost it wasnt too surprising n eating out is not expensive..... All in all we had a great time in altinkum, so go, enjoy and you get what you pay for a 3*. its not the savoy but it is clean n cheap
