Having had a nightmare trying to find somewhere to stay in Dartmouth on short notice that wasn't going to cost us the earth, Fairholme was a surprising little gem. Tucked away in a corner in the lovely village of Stoke Fleming, there's a little bit of Portugal. The owners have decorated their guest house in warm colours reminiscent of their trips to this country. The conservatory, where the breakfasts are delicious AND at a reasonable time of the morning, is warm and inviting with big glass doors that open onto a patio where the two cats lay in the sunshine. Our room was very cosy, with more warm colours and chunky wooden furniture and the little ensuite was just gorgeous. Kettle, mugs (instead of silly little cups), biscuits, hot chocolate, tea, coffee, decaff coffee, herbal tea - plus a hairdryer and sky tv. Also I noticed in the bottom drawer of the unit, 2 hot water bottles and an extra blanket. The ensuite had complimentary shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, liquid soap etc too. The little touches that even larger hotels tend to forget sometimes, I highly recommend the Fairholme as a quiet, clean, and comfy escape that's definitely value for money.
