“A charming gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 October 2009

We stayed at Cholson Chalets in early September this year. The apartment was very well maintained, kept clean for us, and had a great view over the bay at Charlotteville.

At the time of booking, Cholson Chalets didn't take credit cards, so a dollar-draft cheque was needed. Although this was inconvenient and added cost, it was worth it to be able to secure a stay at a really homely place.

We received friendly advice, a warm welcome and had travel from the airport arranged without fuss. Thank you for a memorable stay!

“An absolute gem and great value for money!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 June 2008

Staying at the Cholson was one of the highlights of our whole holiday in Tobago.
We stayed down the south end of the island for the majority of our trip but decided to spend a few days up north in Charlotteville.

Charlotteville itself is an absolutely beautiful fishing village/town. We had driven there with no plans or reservations and by chance The Cholsons was the first place we tried, and I am so thankful it was.

We were offered the first floor apartment facing out to the bay - you could literally throw a stone into the sea from inside the apartment.

I only wish I had a picture to show you the smile on my face as we were shown around. For $65 US (there or thereabouts) per night we had three double bedrooms a large living/dining area, large well equipped kitchen, Cable T.V. and best of all a sea facing sitting area with the most spectacular view out of a whole wall of windows that pivot open to give a completely open air impression. The apartments were immaculate throughout and well decorated with wood panel flooring and an overall colonial feeling.

There is no air-con but the apartments are very well ventilated so receive a refreshing sea breeze. Couple that with the fact that there is a very effective ceiling fan in every bedroom and two in the living area and the whole apartment stayed very cool.
Buy a few bottles of ice cold carib (local lager) from the small bar (small, as in garden shed sized) next door and watch the sun set in the bay either sat on the beach or in the comfort of the apartment.

Pirates Bay is only a ten minute walk away. It is a completely secluded beach (with decent snorkelling) that’s only accessible by foot or boat and was totally deserted when we were there.

When we next come to Tobago (we will be back) we’ll definitely be staying a few nights in The Cholson Chalets.

“great stay”

The 1st floor appartment we rented for 3 nights at the Cholson Chalets in Charlotteville was the best value for money accommodation we had during our travels around Tobago.
A lovely wooden seafont building, capitalising on all the best features of the property i.e. polished floorboards, period furniture, bedroom and balcony overlooking the sea etc.
All rooms spacious, exceptionally clean, a well equipped kitchen, and excellent staff made this an excellent stay in beautiful Charlotteville
