After teaching in one of the Eastern Cape's schools for a week, we (2 British teachers) wanted to finish our trip with a bit of luxury! And we weren't disappointed!
Thank you to the hosts we had the most incredible couple of days in one of the gorgeous safari lodges. The hosts tended to our every need and the chef was incredible! During our 3 evenings we got to experience the most beautifully cooked local cuisine; we ate with the most interesting hosts in candlelight, whilst looking out over the waterhole.
The rooms were gorgeous and the jacuzzi was fabulous at night, whilst listening to the wildlife.
We went for a couple of game drives. We were aware when booking that they don't have the range of animals that the game reserves have, but the lodges, food and total relaxation made up for it. (We made sure we did a trip to Addo National Park, which is really close to where you get the light aircraft, before and after the visit to ensure we saw lots of different animals).
We did ride the elephants, which was lovely, but it was the lodge itself, the hosts and food that made the visit perfect for us.
We are still talking about it now, which finally got me round to writing this review. I really should've written it earlier, because it truly deserves the recognition.
Thank you again for a magical stay. If I come back and teach next year I will definitely return.
