“Cant imagine a better place for a Honeymoon”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 March 2011

As we drove out the long dirt road surrounded by evergreen and cedar trees we remembered our camping trips from our childhoods. When the road opened to the resort we were met by the caretakers Kim and Karl with their friendly dog Otis. Not only is this a beautiful place to vacation but you can tell Kim and Karl truely enjoy their position there. They are both very knowledgable of the whole island and its attractions...not just the ones in the pamphlets. The cabin was perfect. Reminded us of history books of of the early 1800's. ( Converted to electricity of course). The fireplace was very romantic. Watching the ocean with the fire crackling behind you is awesome.
We have recommended LC to everyone and plan to stay there again soon.
Thank you Kim and Karl, for a great weekend.

“Lonesome Cove Resort - Still the same peaceful retreat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 April 2010

After being a regular visitor to Lonesome Cove Resort for about 18 years, I was a little unsure of what to expect when our wonderful host, Larry, retired in December. No Worries!

We arrived as usual and were welcomed by our new hosts, Kim and Karl Bruger and their silly dog, Otis. The Cove is still the same peaceful retreat it has always been. Newly painted sills and cabin names brighten the log cabins; Karl is busy planting a garden for herbs and other goodies that can be enjoyed by guests; and the grounds are beautiful.

On our last evening there, we were visited by Larry and Trudy and old and new joined together to sip a glass of local red wine and enjoy the wonderful view.

It was a great trip and, as always, we are looking forward to our next visit.

“A unique , refreshing, peaceful, encounter, with beautiful location...”

The location, even though somewhat remote, was easily and quickly accessible from the ferry dock. The natural setting was spectacular, and the grounds and cabins were very clean and well maintained. The new caretakers, Carl and Kim, were most pleasant, helpful, and informative. We were most impressed with the abundance of nature, birds, eagles, ducks, otters, seals, and sea lions, that were observable just outside our door. We would highly recommend the Lonesome Cove to anyone wanting to get away from the electronic world and spend some time experiencing the beauty and peacefulness of God's creation.

“Our Tenth Year of Staying at LC”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 November 2009

We 'discovered' this resort 10 years ago. We came across it in a book of great places in the NW, and decided we would give it a go. As we nervously drove down the narrow road in dense trees (was this place going to be good?), we soon erupted in glee upon seeing the setting, the cabins and views.

We look forward to celebrating a birthday here ever since. We bring a 13' inflatable boat with 15 hp motor and on nice days head out to sea to see everything that is there.

We used to spend one of our 5 nights at a nice restaurant, but soon discovered the better way of grilling on the deck to watch the boats, the seals and otters, the eagles and the fox. Why eat anywhere else when this place has the best views around (and food, LOL).

Great stone fireplaces and plenty of wood to enjoy the cooler or rainy days.

Plenty of groomed grass between the five cabins, and a nice beach of small gravel/sand, and a dock to tie a boat.

We love this place and hope it never changes.

Many of my photos can be seen on Google Earth and found on Panoramio.com
