Myself and my family recently stayed here for one night, and one night only thankfully. Although all staff were very friendly and courteous, and rooms were well equiiped and spacious, the hotel itself was utterly FREEZING. Unacceptable to find cold radiators in December. At no stage during our stay was there any heat put on, and upon reporting this, the receptionist acted shocked, and said there had been no other complaints. Funny to note that she had a plug in heater behind her desk!!
Rooms were dark, perhaps due to the fact that our rooms faced out on to a brick wall. Beds were very comfortable ... best thing about the place, but bathroom was shabby, and appeared somehat dirty.
Will not be staying again. Very disappointing.

This place was in a great location with a wonderful view. The accommodations were roomy in the lodges and well equipped. However, I believe we were there off season (1st week in Oct). No one manning the place. No pub, no coffee or tea, NO ONE anywhere. They checked us in and left us. Never saw them again. So, a bit pricey for what is obviously off season and lacking any service. The phone # on the door didn't work, so if we had run into some sort of problem, we would have had no way to contact them. We had to leave the key on the DR table and just leave.

Had a lovley weekend at this hotel, fantastic location... Great service..

What a lovely hotel, the setting was fantasic. The service excellent. On the door step of lovely activities, such as hill walking. We stayed for a weekend, our deal included a bed and breakfast and one dinner. The meal was fantastic, the two ladies in the restaurant were so friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and would defintely return.
