We spent a week at Downe Cottages in June and really enjoyed our stay. The self catering cottage (Vine Cottage) was very clean and homely and had a well equipped kitchen. The site itself was very picturesque with beautiful views, wildlife and gardens. We saw beautiful sun sets from our cottage and relaxed in the spa which we had exclusive use of one evening. Jeremy and Linda were very personable hosts, helpful and friendly. They also provided excellent and very competitive three course meals which were of a very high standard (especially the curry). These were much appreciated particularly on our arrival when the meal was there already waiting for us to simply put in the oven. There are also many places to walk to in the area, including Hartland Quay, the village of Hartland and Cheristow Lavender Farm (who do good food). We hope to return to Downe Cottages again in the future as we enjoyed our stay.

We like to take my mother away for a few days and chose Jasmine cottage at Downe.
It had everything you would need and was very clean and comfortable. The grounds are very well maintained and the views over to Lundy were wonderful. A very relaxing location and quite near to the coastal path. The surrounding area so unspoilt and Hartland village, just a short distance away, is delightful. Jeremy and Linda made us very welcome too.

We rented two cottages, Ivy and Jasmine, and both exceeded our expectations. They were spotlessly clean, very well equipped and we were able to relax. Our daughter and her bridesmaid enjoyed their pampering when they had their beauty treatments.
Jeremy and Linda were very tolerant of the preparations for our daughter's wedding and attended to our requests willingly. Indeed, they went further than we could have hoped in helping us.
We would love to pay a return visit when we have more time to visit the beautiful surrounding area.

Japonica Cottage was absolutely beautiful, set in an tanquil location with lovely scenery and beautiful views. The cottage contained everything you could need and was a delight to be in.

Jeremy and Lynda were very welcoming hosts, making you feel very welcome, always ready for a chat and able to supply you with any information about the area you required.

The fact you would order an evening meal was an added bonus as it would be there in your cottage when you arrived back after a day out and you only had to pop it in the oven or microwave.

The surrounding area was very beautiful and it was very easy to visit other places from Downe.

A truly relaxing location with the added bonus of the spa if you wished to make use of it. A place certainly to return to in the future.
