I booked Downe Cottages as a last minute get-away and consider myself extremely lucky to have found such a lovely place to stay. We had a short 4 night break which was absolutely fantastic. The cottage we stayed in was immaculate and the setting was truly breathtaking, on arrival we were welcomed and had a fantastic meal in the cottage, we found both Jeremy and Linda the perfect hosts and on-hand to offer advice on the local areas and places to go. Downe is the perfect venue if you want to explore the North Devon coastline and surrounding villages. The setting is truly idyllic and very romantic and you have to go there to do it justice. Jeremy and Linda think of everything and were just so accommodating it really did make it the perfect place to go.
We had a fantastic, fantastic break which was topped off by my partner accepting my proposal of marriage. We are definitely going to stay there again and I would highy recommend this to couples and families alike.
My partner had a treatment which she thoroughly enjoyed and if it wasn't for the fact that we wanted to explore the area I'm sure we would have made more use of the really great spa facilities.

A must for anyone contemplating a break in North Devon. You have to visit it to really appreciate the facilities, accommodation, hosts and the amazing surroundings

This was the first time we had stayed at Downe Cottages , indeed the first time we had done a self catering cottage break and what a fantastic break it was. The cottages are spotless, well equiped and perfect for a relaxing break. We did not use the spa as we wanted to travel around the area. We will choose Downe Cottages again, we had a great time.

How wonderful it was to return for our "away from it all break" at Downe Cottages .The location is fabulous-we sat out in the evening with a glass of wine and watched the sun set over the atlantic while the swallows swooped and dived around us .It's a short but breathtaking walk to our favourite beach, Berry,for rock pooling, There are pubs and restaurants and beautiful walks nearby and it's a short drive away to other tourist hotspots like Clovelly. The cottages are immaculate, appointed to a high standard and Jeremy and Linda think of everything for a comfortable and relaxing stay .We would love to return .

We spent the May bank holidaty in Downe Spa. The therapies were excellent, the location great, the service brilliant and the place spotless. Jeremy and Linda - the owners - went to great lenght to get everything right. Highly recommended of you need an easy-going, relaxing weekend!
