We stayed here the night before embarking on the McCarthy Road en route to Wrangell-St. Elias National Park.
We had a private log cabin, about 12' x 15', carpeted with a double bed, sink, heater, coffeemaker, nightstand & reading lamp, overhead light, dark curtains (important for Alaska in summer!), and cozy blankets. The cabin also had a covered front porch with two chairs and a picnic table out front.
The cabin had electricity (lights, heat, outlets for charging gadgets) but no running water. Ingeniously, this was overcome with a sink & vanity with an Igloo water cooler providing fresh water for washing, brushing teeth, and drinking and a bucket inside the vanity to catch the wastewater. Two bottles of water and a pitcher of water for the coffeemaker were also provided.
During business hours (7 a.m.-10 p.m. weekdays, until 8 p.m. on Sundays) a restroom and a hot shower were available inside the shop/cafe. After hours, we used the outhouse behind our cabin.
We ate dinner at the cafe, and got generous portions which made the rural Alaska prices palatable.
All in all, we had a great stay in the cozy cabin!
