“Rustic, secluded and perfect for family”

We stayed there for 2 nights; a family of 4, 2 kids in the double bed with Bath cabins. We stayed there the week before Christmas. The interior was clean, hot water always available, very close to the visitor information yet seemed to far removed from the crowd. The property manager was very accommodating and used everything in his power to make our stay extremely pleasant. The heater in one of the cabins broke down, so they immediately switched us to another one. The are lots of raccoons outside, beware of food items, when we were checking in out rooms, a raccoon managed to get away with a loaf of bread. Overall we had a nice relaxed vacation, there was absolutely no crowd, whatsoever.

Room Tip: Any of the 4 bath cabins are in prime location.

“Just so-so”

We've stayed in other cabins in national parks - Roosevelt roughrider cabins in yellowstone -and absolutely loved them, but our experience at Grant Grove was disappointing. We stayed in one of the camp cabins (no bathroom) with two double beds. The cabin itself was nice enough and fairly spacious, yet keep in mind they are very old. Our main problem with the place was the staff, who we found very unhelpful, unfriendly, and standoffish. When we asked questions, the staff gave the bare minimum answer and didn't offer any additional "tid bits" or advice. We just didn't feel welcome. The other annoying thing was that the showers were coin-operated! So even though we were paying $80 / night, we still had to get quarters for the shower. And wow, the spray from that showerhead was so painful! We've camped a number of times in the national parks and this was the worst shower by far! We like roughing it, but honestly I would skip this place. Head further on into Sequoia Park to camp at Lodgepole Campground (beautiful!) or at the nicer Wuchaschi Lodge (where we ate several delicious meals!). We were looking for a middle of the road option in terms of price and comfort since it was our first day in the parks, but we wished we had camped at Lodgepole for both nights.

“Cosy cabin, perfect for when the weather turned bad”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 October 2011

We stayed in one of the Bath Cabins (No. 3). The cabin had 2 x queen beds, lots of windows so it was quite bright inside, a thermostat controlled heater and an ensuite bathroom with an electric radiator.

The room was cosy, the decor wasn't to my taste, but it was clean and neat. The bath cabins do not have anywhere to cook so all your meals will need to be taken at the local restaurant, which was pleasant enough. The cabin has a shared wall with it's neighbour, I think if you had someone loud next door this could be a problem, but we could barely hear our neighbours. There are seats on the porch where you can sit outside and watch the squirrels and picnic tables scattered between the cabins.

“Perfect stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 October 2011

2 kids and 2 adults had a perfect stay in the cabins at Grant Grove. Toilets and cabins very clean and comfy and the local restaurant and shop is excellent. Dad cooked hot dogs on the provided outdoor wood stove. Good value at $87 a night.

“Nice Cabins”

We stayed here for one night. The cabins are in the national park and they are more than 80 years old. If you are looking for fancy these are not for you. We got cabin facing the forest. the location is great, right in the middle of the two parks and the price is less compare to all other motels. The bath house and showers are clean. Each cabin has a 2 queen beds accomdate 4 people and it has propane heater. It was a nice experience to stay in the CABIN at Grant grove village. I love it and would like to stay again.

Room Tip: Room no.527 is facing towards forest. If you want really good camping experience choose this room
