“Absolutely Horrible - Anti-Gay”

From the moment we drove onto the property the problems started. We were asked to move our car 3 separate times before we could even get out and check in so that other people could park where we were parked to check-in. We were harassed by the staff the first night who seem to believed they owned the park and everyone should bow to their ever whim. The staff who tent camp there violate camping boundaries, move items within the campground when you leave into town and completely violate privacy and respect of personal property. When asked for assistance from a staff member, me and my girlfriend were ignored 4 separate times before another concerned camper got their attention and brought them over. Quiet time in the part is 10 pm but by quiet time they mean, put out your fire, stop talking, and go to bed. We were enjoying quiet conversations around the camp fire when a staff member rudely interrupted my 12 year old nephews story to tell us that our whispering was keeping her awake and that she worked there and could kick us out!!!! Me and my girlfriend received constant menacing stares as we walked through the camp together. Staff member attempted to corrected my girlfriend as she was walking into the woman's bathroom. Then we were told to move our tent over 4 inches after we had been camping there for 2 days because we were supposedly over the boundary of our camping area and had a complaint by the staff member sleeping beside us who didn't agree with our previous night's whispering session. When the staff member was asked to show us the boundary line he could not point it out but was certain that we still needed to move our tent over. The staff member camping beside us also decided to take up as much space as possible and had cords tied to all kinds of facilities and staked so far from their tent it caused tripping hazards for all camping around them. After a few of my family members tripped on the cords and my nephew injured himself I attempted to notify a staff member who replied there was nothing they were gonna do about it and if we wanted it moved we had to file a formal complaint with the front office. When as for a managers name to speak with, the staff refused to give it and drove off in their motor vehicle. The showers were full of black mold. The pool bottom is line with what looks like black rocks and when I looked closer they were all dead bugs!!! First and last time I stay here!!! Horrible place. The only bad thing of our entire trip was this forsaken, sorry excuse for a campground.

“Bad Expierence DON'T STAY HERE”

When I checked in I ask the desk person to lock me in for two nights. She looked on the computer and said that would be fine. 1st night the connection to the router was excellent but the internet didn’t work. I called and left a message. Next morning someone called and said there was a problem with the provider. She said McDonalds was having the same problem. That statement was the most evasive and uninformed answer I ever heard & an avoidance of the problem by unprofessional employees. Next morning as we were getting on a motorized boat on the lake someone called and said I would have to come back and move my RV. She said another camper had requested that spot and would be in that day. She stated if the employee had looked on the computer she would have seen that spot booked as if she was questioning my truthfulness. I said I couldn’t be back until after 12:00 PM. She called back later and said the people requesting my spot had agreed to move to the spot next to me so not to worry. These people NEVER showed up at all. Consequently our morning was spent worrying about a parking space rather than enjoying our planned day. Day two, the internet worked but it was slower than 1990's dial up speed! I have NO intention of ever coming back to the park! It is extremely dirty and dusty. Because of the amount of dust I enquired about a mobile motor home washing company. They charged $72.00 dollars but Elk Lodge added another $50.00 dollars for them & the company uses their own water. A beautiful views of the mountains is interrupted by 60+ old junkie trailers, motor homes, and travel trailers, some were new, but that doesn’t negate the fact they are a storage business obstructing a beautiful view. You can’t even walk your park fearing you will hurt yourself in thousands of rodent holes. The sites are so close together you find yourself outside your unit trying to relax 10 feet from a table where people can be having their meals.. They are too expensive for what you receive.

“Definately will stay again!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 August 2010

This was a very nice campground! I don't know why others think otherwise. We had very good service at check-in/out with the "elderly ladies" and the groundkeepers are always smiling and waving as you come in and out of the resort. The campground is large and the RV spots are similar to theatre seating, it is gravel, but very level~could use more trees in between the sites as it is a little close. The view was amazing! We were in row "B". The shower houses/restrooms were always very clean and always had hot water. The WiFi was always up and running with no problems. The "ground squirrels" were visible and cute but not a problem at all. The pool was heated and accessible. We really enjoyed our stay and will definately stay again and recommend it!

“Very nice place and a great location.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 August 2010

This was a very good place to stay at. The people were nice. The place was clean. We stayed for a few nights and had a great time. Yes, there are Wyoming Ground Squirrels; but I never found them an annoyance in any way. A very good quiet place to stay. I would come back again.

“Absolutely terrible.. DO NOT STAY HERE...”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 August 2010

My family stayed here for 10 days and we regretted it the day we pulled in. The elderly ladies managing the place are rude, sarcastic, and downright disrespectful to adults and children. The campsites are very small, grassless, and infested with ground squirls which drop rodent poop all over your campsite daily. There are no fires allowed unless you are a tenter or use the community fire ring. (Don't be fooled by the excuse of a fire ban, because there was none).

The swimming pool is quite small, and was very cold. No one was swimming in it for two days until it was finally heated. Hot tub is tiny. Restroom and shower facilities are inadequite, outdated, run out of hot water routinly, have standing water, and are not cleaned routinly.

The management's method of filling potholes and paving roads and parking lots is to dump recycled chunks of highway asphalt all over and then drive over it with their tractor. Very messy, uneven, classless, and unprofessional.

In fact the campground itself and satff behavior are so unacceptable, I asked to check out two days early and even provided a 72 hour notice and asked for a refund. The staff claimed they had no authority to grant my request, but would have "The manager" call me. I provided my cell phone number but never heard from anyone. My family ended up having to stay at this dump for the remainder of our vacation.

Do not be fooled by the campground's website as it is very misleading. If you decide to stay here I guarentee you will regret it.

My family has been camping for over ten years and have stayed at 50 plus different campgrounds across the country. This is by far the worst campground we have ever stayed at. DO NOT STAY HERE.
