We spent 2 nights in the main lodging area on the beach. The room was large, but funky in the extreme— little hot water, no kitchen utensils, coffee machine with no coffee or filters, furnishings out of the early 60's or recent yard sales, loudly dripping faucets, plenty of painted plywood and dark paneling attest to its 1950 construction. Surprisingly, there was no maid service nor new towels.
Travel and area road construction had us running late, but the Log Cabin wouldn't answer their phone when we tried to call regarding onsite food options. We called ~6 times through the afternoon and it only rang, rang, rang... Desk staff said "Yeah, the woman who deals with the phone is traveling." Huh? Is that how to run a lodging (a.k.a. "service") business?
Upshot was we had 10-minutes to buy a few expensive snack items from their "General Store" and called it dinner.
Watch the additional fees- costs for extra people, for adjusting an online booking via the phone, taxes/surcharges and an expensive restaurant. Desk, restaurant and store hours are limited. There are a couple of $2/load washer/dryers available in the RV area.
The location is fantastic- Crescent Lake is beautiful and the Log Cabin is well positioned to explore the northern portion of the Olympic Peninsula. The desk and restaurant staff were friendly, but just making due with the poor, run-down and over priced facilities. Our room had a great view of the Lake.
We'll return to Olympic National Park, but not the Log Cabin Resort.
