We had a family vacation in Washington a couple weeks ago. I had booked this place four months in advance and warned my family after staying in Seattle for a couple nights to prepare for a rustic experience. When we arrived, the beauty of the location set us all in a good mood. We had one of the lakeside chalets and a sleeping cabin up on the hill. Coming into the chalet, it had a musty smell, but it appeared very clean. Maybe it had something to do with being right next to the lake. The kids were happy with the cabin, complete with a loft and gorgeous window views. My huband and I stayed in the cabin on the hill. It's like going back in time! I saw a deer in the forest right outside the panoramic windows in the bedroom and I loved soaking in the old clawfoot tub.
All the families staying at the resort looked like they were having a great time. We rent a canoe and some of my kids even swam in the chilly blue waters of the glacier lake. I made a dutch oven dinner and eating out on the table by the lakeside cabin seemed picture perfect. The staff was friendly and helpful.
The price was a little high, but for staying in a national park I think it is to be expected. Well worth it to us, we will definitely stay again!
