“Ross Lake is unbelievable”

We have been vacationing at Ross Lake Resort for over 25 years. Yes, we are mature adults. The resort is run and maintained by a great, efficient and super staff. The setting is pristine in this day of hurry and race. The scenery is awesome and undescribable. Catching fish is an extra. Just the serenity of the mountains and water is the best. Getting there sometimes is a little inconvenient, but worth all the worry and work. I advise anyone with a little bit of adventurous spirit to go at least for three nites. If you stay a shorter time you'll find you don't want to leave.

“Perfect Cascades experience without the camping gear”

Requires some effort and planning to get there, but worth it for sure. Not accessible via public road, so you'll either need to hike in, or take a boat-truck-boat shuttle to arrive at the resort. Staff was great, and although the cabins are rustic, they are quite comfortable. Exploring the beauty of Ross Lake is made easy with available kayak and motorboat rentals. The views, weather permitting, are incredible. Note that fishing season doesn't open until July 1st. You also need to bring your own food - the cabins have reasonably well-equipped kitchens and dining utensils.

“One Word...Amazing!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 September 2010

Staying at Ross Lake Resort was the most amazing part of our 10 day trip across the PNW. We did the 1 mile hike down to the dock and called the resort for the water taxi. For $2/person we were picked up by a catamaran and taken to the resort. It was early in the morning so we rented a boat and spent the day on the lake. The weather was clear, sunny, and the views of the northern cascades were simply breathtaking. Taking the boat into Devil's Canyon was amazing! The whole atmosphere of the lake and resort is magical, mysterious, and one-of-a-kind. We checked into our "Modern Cabin" #2 at 4:30p. We started a fire in the wood burning stove which set the stage for the rest of the night. The cabins float on the water and have breathtaking views of the Cascades and Diablo Dam. The remoteness of the place was wonderful. My husband and dad jumped into the frigid, glacial water as the sun was going down which created quite the stir with other guests...I am sure they thought they were crazy! Overall, we loved our time at the resort and would be thrilled to return their one day!

“Great National Park Lodge”

We missed the boat to the resort but the friendly staff picked us up from the dock. The cabin is rustic and awesome and you have to bring your own food. Each cabin is floating on the lake and has a complete kitchen with modern appliances. The bathroom is convenient, the beds are rustic, and the stove is old-fashioned! it is perfect for any type of family, seniors, and honeymooners. To get around the park you can rent a motorboat or kayak that you can just leave on the shore because nobody will take it. Just watch out for bears and mountain lions!

“I Love It!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 June 2005

I have been going to Ross Lake Resort since about 2000 or 2001. I am in my early teenage years, so I make a lot of new friends there, and never tire for adventures. Ross Lake is the one thing that makes me look forward to summer vacation hurrying, since I go in mid-July, and that is VERY far away for me.
I stay in the Peak Cabins for the first week or so, and boy, is that a view! It's beautiful, and spacious. I love going there, and I hope if you ever have a chance to go, you'll have a great time, because I'm sure almost everybody does.
