Of the two lodges on the Park, we felt that the Paradise Inn had the better location and amenities. The view is spactacular, with the mountain right outside your window and a beautiful view overlooking a scenic valley. The accomodations are adequate but not fancy. The common lounge area is quite lively and there was a very good piano player there during the afternoon providing great ambience. Part of the fun was talking to the climbers who were either headed up or coming back from an attempt to summit the mountain. Everyone had their stories. If the crowds are heavy, getting up the last couple of miles and parking could be a small hassle, but you do get a guest pass that lets you park close once you check in.
We are veterans of national park lodges around the country and enjoy the rustic charm.
