“Stunning lodge, on the edge of the canyon”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

As you walk into the entrance, there is a huge window up to twenty feet high, which gives a staggering view of the canyon. Next to it, is the restaurant, with similar windows. You then walk out onto the rim edge and see the huge drop.

The cabins, though comfortable are not a s spectacular, only a handful have views. The western cabins are great, with a mock fire, tea and coffee making facilities etc. Don't expect luxury or TVs. This is for the experience.

“amazing setting, rustic cabins”

Not sure why, but I'd rather stay in a small old leaky log cabin than in a (for example) large newer hotel near a national park boundary. Our cabin was small but clean and functional. The dining room at the lodge was spectacular. We were there to hike and see the scenery, so the on-site cabin was perfect. Also appreciated the cafe for coffee or a quick sandwich, and the internet access at the grocery store a mile away.

“Loved It Here!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

We loved this cabin. We tried very hard to get a rim view, but to no avail. Our cabin was large-- two queen beds, table and two chairs, desk with another chair, fireplace, good size bathroom, and a cute little porch with two rocking chairs. The cabin was very clean.

We ate dinner in the main dining room (make reservations well in advance or you will be eating at 5:00 or 9:30) both nights of our stay. The dining room is beautiful. The food was very good. Sometimes the National Parks have boring, expensive food, but everything was quite nice. The view is fabulous.

When trying to make room reservations, don't give up if you don't get a reservation right away. The online reservation system works pretty well. Reservations can be made up to one year in advance and modifications to reservations are made constantly.

We took several ranger led walking tours and we did take the Supai Trail mule ride. Miss Kitty was our guide and she was fantastic. Friendly and smiling the entire time. This is a very dusty ride. You will be ready for a shower as soon as you are done with the ride. All of your clothes will be coated with red dust. It was a wonderful ride though! Views are spectacular.

“Got to be done!”

A very rustic lodge with own mousetraps! Great location and perfectly adequate accom with no requirement for aircon. The main lodge has a really great view!!! And the restaurant is pretty good too. Book early to avoid disappointment and enjoy the experience. It's not 21 st century but that adds to the charm

“One of the best locations to visit this splendour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

We have booked (6 months in advance!!!) the last available log cabin situated approximately across the Visitor Center, which was very clean and comfortable (taking into account the serious efforts that Forever Resorts that is running the location makes, in order to provide electricity (brought from Utah!), running water (in an almost desert region!) and an efficient administration (handling hundreds of visitors, from all the world!). It is true, there is no fridge, no air conditioned, but the cabin had own private bathroom for each bedroom, clean bed linen, and the wooden walls provided good insulation against the hot days and chilly nights. Still, you have to be careful to the small and cute chipmunks that are so used to visitors that have no problems to sneak into the cabin to steal whatever food is not secured enough.
The Restaurant is also great, (an early reservation is strongly recommended, especially if you want to have the best seats and a table near the large windows and the heavenly perspective to the mountains.)
The personnel(of the Lodge, Visitor Center, Restaurant, Cafeteria, Gift Shop) and the rangers that take responsibilities in the national park are most kind and helpful.
And, of course, the trails, the view points and the whole scenery is breathtaking!!!!!

Room Tip: Book many month in advance, you may not have the chance to choose, just to take what you can!
