If you enjoy staying in cabins than you will find Crow's Nest an excellent option in the Denali area. The lodging is in very basic one-room cabins, clean but small and dark. I found it hard to get warm, but it was snowing out (in August!). I liked the location, an easy walk down to "glitter gulch", but secluded and quiet up on a hill. The landscaping is nice, and there is a pleasant hot tub. The restaurant was not great, but good enough that we couldn't drag ourselves to eat dinner anywhere else after long days of hiking in the park. The best thing about Crow's Nest was the service. The guys who worked the front desk went out of their way for us repeatedly- picking up bus tickets, returning a "junior explorer" backpack we got from the Denali park center, and calling for the shuttle at all hours. The guys driving the shuttles were equally helpful. I was amazed by the service, and I would say of all the places we stayed in Alaska this was the one place where I did not feel like I was being ridiculously overcharged. I also liked the fact that there was nothing corporate about this place. I would stay here again the next time I visit the park, but if you don't like "roughing it", chose somewhere else.
