“thought it was a great place!”

Waited last minute to book something in Death Valley-ended up with a small room, no TV-but it had everything we really needed after a full day hiking DV..a comfortable bed and a really decent updated bathroom. Coffee maker and a blow dryer, don't need much more. Very quiet, easy to take our dog out at night-only issue was a door that had to be shut "hard" and I'm sure that wasn't good for our neighbors. We are planning on returning and I'm not even thinking about checking out the others in the Valley.

“Great Place to Stay in the Middle of Death Valley”

We absolutely loved our stay at Stovepipe Wells - as you're driving through Death Valley you really do feel miles and miles from civilisation. The location of Stovepipe is perfect for exploring Death Valley.

The staff (like virtually all we encountered in America) were super helpful and check-in couldn't have been quicker. Our room was simple and clean and had everything we needed for a couple of days. Although we visited in early May it was unbelievably hot so the pool area was a nice place to spend a couple of hours when it got to hot to do much else!

We ate in the restaurant at night and the service and food was very good and very reasonably priced and the waitress was very knowledgeable on her American beers.

Definitely recommended if you're visiting Death Valley.

“Great Place to Stay”

I greatly enjoyed my two night stay at Stovepipe Wells Village. It was a good location, a clean room, and a friendly place. There were even a few extras, including coffee in the morning and a nice place to sit by the pool. People who are unhappy with Stovepipe Wells Village must be expecting something different than what it is - a convenient and comfortable place to stay in the middle of an amazing National Park.

“Great location, lovely pool, functional rooms”

We stayed in August - we arrived and found the receptionist a bit snippy - we didn't want ot ask her any questions - the room was fine - a room for 4, relatively small, with a used coffee filter in the coffee machine, but otherwise clean. The air con is noisy ( it probably has to be given the heat) and the screens on the windows ( needed to protect from the heat again) shield you from the view of the parked cars. And we had a good night sleep, in spite of the continual roar from the aircon. And overall, the hotel did the job - and the pool was a welcome relief from the heat- really lovely to lounge around there and enjoy the sun heated pool. If we went to Death Valley again, we'd probably stay there again- Death Valley itself is so other wordly, any hotel is bound to be a welcome relief from constant heat.

“Great Rooms, Friendly Staff....Will Stay here again!!!”

We (cyclist group) found that there is no better place to stay in Death Valley National Park. Our group of fifteen was warmly welcomed by reception. We made reservations for our rooms well in advance and were very lucky that they had a sudden cancellation and had room for the one extra cyclist we had in our group. The restaurant sat us as a full party, when we didn't think ahead to make reservations. The restaurant service was great especially when the restaurant Manager introduced himself to make sure everything was better than expected.... and it was.
The rooms were large, comfortable and convenient. Every night at Stovepipe Wells was a pleasure especially after a long day of biking. We especially liked that there were no phones in the room and some of our rooms had no TV. If you are looking for a real connection to Death Valley, but with comfort and modern convenience, this is the place to stay.
We will be booking all of our future tours at Stovepipe Wells.

Room Tip: Dune views are superb!
