Great place for dogs but not a happy experience for anyone else wanting a room to stay. A sign outside welcomes dogs with grudging reference to humans being allowed too.
Very attractive building from the outside, but once inside, beware. Free dog biscuits on the bar should give you a clue. Dogs can outnumber humans at breakfast. Bedrooms are basic (and not too clean), meanwhile very dirty carpets in the residents areas need removing and replaced with something washable.
Breakfast food was substantial even if service on the unpredictable and slow side. You had to ignore the barking as dogs came and went their way.
Actually the bar was fine, the food adequate and the service good. Good range of beers and ciders.
We stayed three nights which was three too many for some of our party.
Unless you are taking Rover and his pals, then stay somewhere else.
