“I wish I could stay here for ever!”

Our trip was as wonderful as ever even although the weather was not that kind to us. The food was great, the service was friendly and efficient and we went home refreshed but broken hearted to leave our wonderful Bellapais Family. We have been coming for many years and they really do feel part of our family. One thing I feel that I must mention. Some travel agents book people in here without mentioning the very steep hill which cannot be avoided here. If you have any mobility problems, this could really spoil your holiday although the staff will go out of their way to try and minimise this. One poor guest had just had a knee replacement and was really struggling. Although Bellapais Gardens is really heaven on earth, you do have to negotiate a steep hill and lots of steps to make your way round heaven. This also makes it totally unsuitable for small children. Also the pool area is unsafe for younger children. Older children might find it rather boring as the hotel is the ultimate chill out zone and perfect for relaxing with a good book or a Kindle. It is very much a hotel for adults.

“Superb !”

The many positive reviews on Tripadvisor encouraged us to book half -board at Bellapis Gardens. There was one slightly mealy-mouthed comment which described it as "a restaurant with bedrooms." This comment remained in the back of our minds as we travelled there.

However, you have to see your way past studio room doors that close themselves, locking you out, an unpredictable hot water system run off an immersion heater and a safe that at first refused to lock and then refused to open (both times put right immediately). You have to see past a noisy, antiquated air-conditioning unit. Fixtures and fittings are not stong points in many hotels. The size, support and comfort of the bed were excellent. No one could complain about lack of sleep due to the bed. However, the most important point from our viewpoint was the cleanliness of the room, the linen and the bathroom. Everything was kept spotless.

You look to the superb hospitality and friendliness from ALL the staff who do work as one family team. The selection and training of staff into the ethos of the place by the two brothers that own the hotel, are obviosly spot on.

From this professionalism, you do indeed move to the restaurant and the food. The chef can cook. The food is beautifully presented and is also tasty and sufficient in quantity, not qualities that always go with pretty presentation. The menu is large and half board enables you to taste exquisite and different flavours each night.

The location under the abbey is indeed a peaceful and sweet-smelling paradise. None of the 3 major towns/cities were that wonderful and we preferred the rural interior of North Cyprus to the sprawl of the 2 ports and the capital. Bellapais Gardens is the idyllic place to return to from the hustle and bustle elsewhere.

Overall, a wonderful holiday experience. You need to hire a car to see things but you don't need to stay anywhere else. The hotel is worth every penny.

“Can perfection get any better?”

My answer to this question is a clear "YES" after having visited Bellapais Gardens Hotel once again 2 years after my first visit. The bathrooms have been renovated, personnel seems to be even more experienced than ever before, service speed increased...etc. To me it was already a wonderful place to be but this time it was even better. I highly recommend.

“Bliss”

This hotel shines in all repects and it's charm and individuality are unique, probably because it is run by a family and the style and food remain very local; it does not try to be a trend setter. It is simply itself. Most has been already said, and all I can add is that I have never stayed in an hotel where my opinion of the quality in all areas has improved steadily as the week has gone on, and my opinion started high. I booked our return trip as we paid the bill.

Room Tip: There are 3 styles of room. All are good.

“Perfect end to the perfect day”

We stayed at one of the bungalows for our wedding night, after marrying in Bellapais earlier this month. The stay was perfect and we can't recommend enough. Food is excellent, general service is good, rooms very well equipped and staff went the extra nile to ensure our visit was perfect.
There really isn't anything like waking up to those views!
We know the area very well and actually went last year to look around, we met a couple of workers who remembered us which was touching.

Room Tip: Book direct and contact week before you g
