My boyfriend and I stayed here two different times for just one night. We were looking for somewhere inexpensive and close to Lower Hutt and Wellington. Abbeycourt fitted and we booked online. On our first stay we were greeted by a young girl who checked us in and was friendly. We had room number 1 which was small but all we needed for one night. The room was cleaned, but there was a hair on the back of the bathroom door, which was a bit grosse. During the evening we could hear people going upstairs to the top room and we could hear them walking backwards and forwards for a while. Other than that, the place was fine.
Our second stay a week or so later, we were greeted by the "mother" who told us our eftpos card was not the right type of card to pay the room with. But yet, the daughter had used it last time. After a discussion she agreed and we were given room 0. This soom was nicer and the bathroom was much more newer. We also had cooking facilities which the other room hadn't. There was no hair this time, but one peice of rubbish was still in the bin. During the evening we were glad not to have anyone above us like last time, but as room 0 was next to the office, we could hear people talking in there. As night came, we went to bed, but our door suddenly clicked open! Conviced we had locked it, we shut it again and luckily, didn't happen again.
I would stay again at the Abbeycourt motel, but only for a night or 2.
