We stayed at this establishment on two separate occasions in our journey. Check-in was quick & easy (we had a booking).
The rooms were spacious and comfortable (i.e. enough space to place two medium 80L backpacks, two smaller bags, and still have plenty of space to move around). The room was well equipped with the usual amenities - tea/coffee/hot-chocolate, Kettle, crockery and cutlery to suit. There was also a stocked mini-fridge.
The bathroom was pretty standard - included both shower & bathtub.
We did not eat in the hotel at all as there are a few pubs around the neighbourhood, a decent sized shopping centre, and a supermarket across the road.
There is a bus which travels from the airport (through Wellington City) that leaves from outside the shopping centre (about 50 m down the road from the hotel). The hotel can provide more info about the bus (timings, route, etc). If not mistaken it was #91.
The "Waterloo" train station is about a 10 to 15 min walk from the hotel. We used the train to get into the city.
On the second stay we had a rental car, which was parked in the hotel's open air parking area (free). If you have a vehicle I would recommend leaving it at the hotel and using public transport to get to & from the city (parking in the city is not a major problem but can be a nuisance).
