My husband stayed here while I was in hospital as we are out of towners. I stayed the first night before being admitted to hospital the following day, and we were on the ground floor which was handy to be able to park our car right outside our room doors which opened to the car park. The room was comfortable, roomy and spacious, although abit old and run down looking. The staff were friendly, which is always a bonus, and the shops etc are all within close proximity, with the hospital approximately 10 minutes drive.

I stayed here recently as part of a tour group at the RWC. The rooms were spacious with rooms on the 2nd floor having recently undergone a refurb. The same cannot be said for the rooms on the 1st floor where a smell of damp is present. The rooms were clean and basic. Breakfast was good with some choices, however we were moved to another room for breakfast when another group came to the hotel. The bar closed early every night we were there which was a shame as so many people were there wanting to give some business. It was a good location to get transport into Wellington City. Theres a shopping center located behind the Inn with some fast food outlets within walking distance for late night food. Staff were friendly and helpful.

We stayed at this establishment on two separate occasions in our journey. Check-in was quick & easy (we had a booking).
The rooms were spacious and comfortable (i.e. enough space to place two medium 80L backpacks, two smaller bags, and still have plenty of space to move around). The room was well equipped with the usual amenities - tea/coffee/hot-chocolate, Kettle, crockery and cutlery to suit. There was also a stocked mini-fridge.
The bathroom was pretty standard - included both shower & bathtub.

We did not eat in the hotel at all as there are a few pubs around the neighbourhood, a decent sized shopping centre, and a supermarket across the road.

There is a bus which travels from the airport (through Wellington City) that leaves from outside the shopping centre (about 50 m down the road from the hotel). The hotel can provide more info about the bus (timings, route, etc). If not mistaken it was #91.
The "Waterloo" train station is about a 10 to 15 min walk from the hotel. We used the train to get into the city.
On the second stay we had a rental car, which was parked in the hotel's open air parking area (free). If you have a vehicle I would recommend leaving it at the hotel and using public transport to get to & from the city (parking in the city is not a major problem but can be a nuisance).

If you find the price of rooms in central Wellington too high, consider this property as an option. It's about 13 minutes walk to the train (Lower Hutt station, once on the train about 20 minutes to the CBD) and about 5 minutes walk to the airport buss. The fare on the airport bus is $11.50. Catch it opposite Starbucks on Bunny St. It runs every 15 minutes starting at 5:30am and takes about 45 minutes.
