Returned after many years as was booked a surprise and I wasn't disappointed. It's a little out of the way but well worth it. Our Room was very large, airy and had plenty of Pillows, T &C making facilities and Plenty of Toiletries. Although a little dated it adds to the ambience and wouldnt look right if modernised. Richard is very attentive and hands on, evening darting about the kitchen and popping over to see if your food is ok. He even makes the Breakfast fry. There are very large gardens, although I would like to see them in summer. They pride themselves in growing a lot of their own fruit and veg and apples could be seen all over the garden. We were able to light the Fire in our room which was so cosy and as the Peat seems to have been replaced by logs, was less smokey than before. I throughly recommed the Pork and Hubby said his Steak as among the best he ever had, We even left room for dessert. Breakfast was also good with the Best Orange juice I have ever had anywhere i've stayed. Take time to check the History of the place, its a fascinating tale. Children and pets are also welcome. Only guests can dine mon-Thurs and with only 5 rooms keeps it intimate. Can't wait to go back.
