Never stayed at the hotel but have been in for food in the bar, on a number of occasions. The food is very good but it is spoiled by the very unprofessional and unfriendly bar staff. The girls who work there, seem to hate their jobs, never smile and have made us feel as if we are a inconvenience to them, on each occasion. There is one guy who works at the hotel who is very friendly and very good at his job. The girls need to take a leaf out of his book. I won't be back again for this reason. How difficult is it to make clients feel comfortable, a smile and friendly personality is the least to expect from waiting staff. I reckon the lack of competition in the area might account for the poor service.
Hope the management takes note of this, as its a pity to let these very unprofessional people ruin the good eating experience in the hotel.

Stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. The first night was great the second night was a disaster the music was so loud I didnt go asleep until about 3am. Couldnt wait to get home to have a rest. Would never go back to this hotel..... The town is dull and dirty...

we had travelled from northern ireland to stay one night in this hotel, we booked through supervalue breaks, when we arrived at hotel got into the room was happy enough as it was comfortable until 11pm when music started very loud, it was actually vibrating through the floor, we had 2 young children staying with us in the hotel and couldnt sleep, i rang reception to ask for a room change but they said they were full and that the music should end about 1,30 am which is unnacceptable having 2 children, tehy had gave us the room right above the disco, i could hear every song. we eventually got up out of bed after midnight and had decided we had enough we packed ur bags and headed out the door where i was met by a man at the reception desk who nodded at us to say hello, i told hom we cant stay because of the noise and he said, ok do you owe any money for the room, i couldnt believe the fact that he didnt care we were leaving at that hour with 2 young kids but had been more interested in paying the bill which i refused to do and had to go and find another hotel at that hour,, anyone with young kids DO NOT stay at this hotel if you want to sleep!!!

spent a week here in april. while the room could do with a make over it was clean and comfortable. the breakfast and service was first class as was the food and service in the cosy bar. there is no lift here, but if you need help with baggage its not a problem. ample carparking across the road facing the hotel in public carpark [2 euro when you exit]. carrick on suir is a nice friendly little country town for a short weekend break,we enjoyed it.
