We arrived at this hotel late one afternoon to a sign on the door stating to go to the first self-catering cottage behind the hotel. We knocked on the door and were met by a man surprised by guests while the hotel was closed for his holidays. We explained that we had paid a deposit through the website (outside booking agency) and he gave us one of the self-catering cottages to use for the night. We never saw the inside of the hotel, but the cottage we stayed in was clean, warm, and comfortable.

The hotel's booking agency made the mistake, but allowing us to stay in such a wonderful cottage made up for that. I would book into these cottages if I was ever coming back to this area in the future.

We were at a wedding here last weekend and had a great time. From what we saw of the hotel it had a lovely decor. We didnt see the bedrooms.

All staff were so friendly. My girlfriend asked the barman for crisps during the reception and as they didnt have any he got her a plate of biscuits to keep her going until the meal.

The food was delicious. I am allergic to nuts and they really looked after me to ensure no nuts were in my food. I was even given different truffles at the end of the meal.

We would recommend a stay or a meal in the Lake House Hotel.

A very cousi hotel in a beautiful part of the country. The staff is outstandingly nice, the food excellent, and the hotel is very clean and confortable. The Lake House Hotel is the perfect place to feel relax and at home while exploring Ireland of just taking a rest to enjoy the peace of this part of the world. I will go back and I encourage all my friends to do the same if they are in the region.

Went for New Years Eve Gala in Dec 2010, Frank, Mick and all the staff were so welcoming and friendly. Beautiful log fires, homeade cookies and cake - courtesy of Frank!!! Really enjoyed the whole stay and the area itself, great walk along the bluestack way.
