“Fabulous location, clean and simple accommodation”

Stayed this side of Lake Tiberias as all the inns were full in Tiberias itself (well, it is traditional at Christmas!). Very glad we did as it was lovely. We had little bungalow chalets with a large double bed, wardrobe,TV and seating area, plus a separate bedroom for the children, with bunk beds and a single. There was a kitchenette with kettle, huge fridge freezer and 2 gas rings to cook on. You have to ask at reception for cooking utensils but they were delivered swiftly with no fuss, as was extra bedding as it was cold the first night (Heater/airconditioner was noisy).
Breakfast was the normal fare for this part of the world (meats, yoghurts and bread) but they did offer hot food which varied from day to day, omelette and scrambled egg, french toast and there was a toaster.
Everything is basic with no frills but is clean and servicable. It is an easy drive from here to circuit the lake to Tiberias, and Nazareth, Tel Aviv, Acre (Akko), and Haifa are all easily a day trip. We thoroughly enjoyed just messing around in and on the lake too as the setting is marvellous and even in late Dec the weather was 22 degrees C.

“Wish I could have stayed longer!”

I was so glad that we opted for Ein Gedi instead of the packed Tiberias. We arrived at the Kibbutz in the early evening and were upgraded to a bungalow over looking Tiberias with an amazing sunset over the Sea of Galilee. We had our own porch and back yard. The master bedroom had huge windows overlooking the water. There is a beach on the premises. There is a restaurant on the Kibbutz called 200 Bistro. The menu is small but delicious. There is outdoor seating and an archway teaming with heavenly jasmine vines. The rooms are plain but great for people who want a kitchen, clean place to sleep, and an amazing view!

“Pretty location, great staff”

The staff was incredibly friendly and willing to help, which was great since customer service can be hard to find in Israel. The location was great for our first trip to the Galilee. It's right on the sea. The breakfast was large and tasty. We didn't eat dinner at the restaurant at the resort, but a mile or so up the road the kibbutz has another little restaurant, and the food and service there were excellent. Like most kibbutzim, the room was very basic, but they were doing lots of renovations when we were there.

“Clean, Tranquil, Gorgeous”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 April 2009

We arrived at Ein Gev after 10 days in Jerusalem. This location was everything that Jerusalem is not- (meaning-quiet and relaxing). We had a small cottage on the shore of the Sea of Galilee ("The Kinneret" these days). The cottage was clean and neat, and was well laid out to offer maximum space and convenience.
This is a traditional Kibbutz that has been partially converted into a resort community. There is a dining hall with excellent food (I ate about 5 pounds of their tabbouleh while there) a laundry (thank God) and a decent convenience store and gift shop. There's also an internet kiosk in the reception lobby. The staff were all very pleasant, and one of my favorite experiences there was sitting outside late one night and having a great conversation with one of the servers from the restaurant after she got off work.

The best feature here, of course, is the lake. The sun sets over Tiberias and the Cliffs of Arbel in the evenings, and the light waves coming in to the shore with the sun setting behind them is a site that at once calms and stirs the spirit.

I would highly recommend this location to any traveler in the Galilee.
