Clean, pleasantly-decorated hotel, attentive and friendly staff. I am a fussy complainer when it comes to hotels, and always inspect carefully upon check-in. I found nothing to complain about here - we both liked it very much. I loved the location of the room, too - close to the door around the side where we parked, close to the ice machine, and close to the lobby - in fact, I think this hotel is nicely designed so nobody would have to trudge too far to get what they needed. I can't stand hotels where you have to walk 15 minutes to get to your room. The hotel is also well-located within walking distance of restaurants (including McD's) and a grocery store. Nice bedding and lots of pillows, the tv was fine - though the sleep timer didn't work via the remote control. The hotel has a beautiful room for breakfast - spacious with large windows (they might even be patio doors - I can't remember), and a tv, comfortable tables/chairs. The breakfast offerings were satisfactory - the usual muffins & breads of all sorts, eggs, biscuits & gravy, waffle station, coffee, hot choc, juice, etc. Suggestions for future room upgrades would be perhaps a corner table in the corner by the window because there's no room for a table/chair next to the tv armoire, and more comfortable beds. But these are not complaints - just thoughts for the future. Cooperstown is a fantastic place to visit at any time of the year. The town could not be more charming and lovely, and the scenery is wonderful. Picturesque plus, to be sure. Their Christmas decorations are so beautiful. Many businesses are closed for the season, but there's still a lot to do and see there. We went to the Fenimore art museum, which was FANTASTIC and gorgeously decorated for Christmas, and we also went to the Fly Creek Cider Mill and bought many Christmas gifts in their terrific store.
