“sublime experience!”

A beautiful resort situated in a stunning cove surrounded by 3 small mountains. The hotel is very well run, we were treated by the staff like family. The pool and grounds are incredibly beautiful and well-maintained.

I notice that some reviewers weren't pleased with the service. This resort is on EU soil and caters largely to Europeans. This place doesn't have the resort "buzz," the legions of fawning staffmembers pushing product and opening doors, that some Americans might expect from a resort. For me, that's a blessing. It is a quiet, beautiful place where the staff is very friendly but more relaxed than some people might be used to.

If you need the buzz, the music thumping, the constant attention and relentless service, stay someplace else! If you value beauty, tranquility, and a relaxed setting, you cannot do better than this place.

“This is now a truly wonderful resort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

I have previously reviewed this property, having returned at least once a year since 1992.Its been sublime and at times in the last death throes as a Meridien, totally horrible. When it opened as a Radisson several years ago it looked like it would be fine. The hotel closed for about 7 months in 2011.Whatever changes, upgrades, staff modifications, etc were done was well worth the effort. This is pretty nearly flawless as a (minimum) 4 star plus Caribbean resort The setting on Anse Marcel is beautiful. Really great swimming water. The staff makes you feel at home and will do whatever is possible to accomodate your needs.I have always stayed in a MarinaSuite which has now been thoroughly renovated and comfortable and lovely. There is both a tub and a walkin shower. It has a front and back patio, giving completely different views of this incredibly landscaped property.
Lili, Alain,Julian, Claudette,Sunshine,Alan, Daniel, Junior of course the new director and everyone who I forgot to mention, have put together a splendid resort.
The price is not cheap unless you get lucky and the euro drops some more.It is tho' worth every cent. This is my 11th day of a 13 day stay and its a good amount of time here.
I did notice that the amenities(bathroom stuff) have taken a hit. But who cares if everything else is fine. All in all this is a super great place.

Room Tip: look at the room before you move in. I prefer the Marina because of the spaciousness and the locatio...

“French Side Delight”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

Looking to go to St Maarten and not sure what side to stay on French or Dutch? They are totally 1 different worlds. If you are looking for busy and night life , then stay in Maho on the Dutch side, However if you are looking for more relaxed atmoshere then French side is for you. Especailly Staying at the Radisson Blu. What an amazing hotel. The service is top notch, from arivving at the hotel, to check out , amazing service. Upgrade yourself to the marine Suites, what a treat. Rooms are large and sleep time beds are wonderful. Breakfast buffet included in your hotel rate has something for everyone and more. Hotel is set down inbetween the mountains but what a gem. This is definately my hotel of choice on the French side by far was a great traveling experience.

Room Tip: Marine Suites a must!

“Zero complaints”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

My wife and I just got back from the Radisson Blu and cannot say a bad word about it. We had a recently remodeled room with an exquisite bed and a gorgeous bathroom. Some of the furniture was left over from before the remodel and that probably should have been let go. The room had new carpeting not the old tiles as mentioned in a previous review and of course the pool and the buffet as mentioned practically everywhere cannot be beat. The pictures on the website are accurate of the grounds and restaurants but the rooms may not be accurate as the remodeling is continuing as only one building is open as of this date. When the whole project is completed maybe the old furniture will be retired and all the rooms will be the same.

I can ditto everything everyone is saying about the staff and the beautiful quiet location, but the real beauty of staying on the French side of St. Martin in such a great hotel is the enjoyment of a European vacation with perfect warm weather in the middle of the winter.
