“Excellent - in particular you must try the restaurant”

I find hotel accommodation a generally pretty ordinary experience. I was part of a small group for an overnight meeting. For a start their room rate was over $100 cheaper per person per night than the normal hotel we stay at a few 100 metres away so we chose this. The quality was very high - very clean, recently refurbished rooms and excellent service.

But the real surprise was the hotel restaurant. I usually prefer to eat at external restaurants because hotel food is often run-of-the-mill. However our group wanted to eat at the hotel restaurant. That was a great surprise. Very high quality total experience. The seafood platter was exceptional in terms of quality, quantity and price. We all appreciated the meals we had and the others also rated their desserts as excellent (I couldn't manage a dessert). Go there!

“Good location, good service!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

I stayed for one night on the way to Canberra. The front desk service was friendly and helpful. I stayed on the 4th floor. The room was decorated with new taps, shower etc but small bathroom. However,it was clean and loved colours. The room was nicely painted with modern colours. King size bed was so so comfortable. Body pillow was so good after driving for 10 hours. The buffet breakfast was satisfactory. Breakfast chef cooked omlette & it was delicious. I also got free parking. However, prepaid parking voucher didn't work thus, I had to reverse back, ha ha, that was fun. There are many cafes & dining options just around the corner from the hotel foyer. I definately stay at parkroyal parramatta again when pass through Sydney.

“Excellent hotel near Sydney”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

Very nice, clean hotel. I am staying here nearly a month so in that length of time would see the bad side of a hotel if there were one. The rooms are spacious and clean, modern bathroom, large LCD TV, good selection of satellite channels, reasonably fast Internet (although it is wired only). Breakfast buffet is pretty good, fresh egg station with good cooks. They nail over easy eggs, that is hard to do. Little things make a difference. Such as the curtains over lapping so light does not filter in around the edges, comfortable bed where the replace the sheets daily, clean towels all the time. Hoel staff is very helpful right to the maids, the are very courteous and do one great job.

“Relaxed stay away from the city center”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

I checked in on Christmas Eve and the front desk staff was pleasant, efficient and wished me a Merry Christmas. My room was clean, comfortable and nicely appointed. I had a small round table, an easy chair and a king size bed. On the first day, the housekeeping staff learned I was a late sleeper and carefully avoided tending to my room until afternoon, with no prompting from me. I absolutely loved the feather pillows. I haven't slept on those since I was a kid.

I have been to Sydney many times and wanted to be out of the city center. I found the location perfect for my needs, but if you are a first time visitor to Sydney, it's too far from the major tourist sites.

I loved Church Street with its variety of restaurants. There's a beautiful park nearby and it's an easy stroll to the mall and the train station, when you're ready to shop or go into the city center.

There are express trains from Parramatta to Central Station, so if you time it right, you can be in Darling Harbour in about 30 minutes.

I enjoyed my stay very much and would certainly book here again.

“Overnight Stay. Ideal business hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 December 2011

We were staying at the ParkRoyal as a combination of work and pleasure. We had a seecond bed put in the room (2 x queen beds) so that our 7 year old daughter could stay with us. The rooms appear to have been recently renovated and were clean.

The beds were comfy - lovely soft pillows and the furnishings were modern and clean. The bathroom was compact but the shower spacious with a fixed glass screen and open entry. The shower head was great - how often do you get those ridiculous water savers that you can hardly rinse your hair with. The hairdryer was a proper hairdryer too.

There is no view from the room at all - just a car park.

The restaurant has seating that is divided by a centeral buffet and open kitchen to the side.
We enjoyed a Christmas buffet and in the morning, a buffet breakfast which also had an 'egg chef' too. Both buffet offerings were excellent standard with some interesting salad combinations and good variety. One of the better quality buffet breakfasts that we have had. The service in the restaurant was friendly and attentive without being intrusive - plates cleared quickly and drinks replenished.

A young man on reception made me very welcome and gave a friendly and efficient check in. Another lady in the morning, printed out the train times for me with a friendly smile.

My husband who arrived later than me, did encounter a no so friendly staff member who was querying his package but the manager stepped in and quickly resolved the issue to our satisfaction.

THere was a swimming pool at the hotel which looked nice for doing laps but we didn't get time to test the waters so to speak.

Room Tip: We were on the 5th floor. Lifts - there were 3 were a bit slow but as there were 3 there wasn't...
