“Wonderful and unforgettable experience, loved every moment”

We have just returned from a trip to Majorca. We spent most of the time in Alcudia, at the Cas Ferrer, and we are glad we did:-) Cas Ferrer is a special place for a number of reasons:1. the host, Maria, is a beautiful person, she made us feel welcome, dedicated time to us and was open for genuine conversations. She really enjoys her work and one feels that. 2. The hotel is really more like a house, which is really nice. The design is warm, welcoming and relaxing:-) One can really feel that people have put their hearts and minds in designing and decorating it. It was beautiful to feel that. 3. Location - the hotel is close to the main square and the old town. One could feel the community spirit of this place. We will never forget this trip and the stay at Cas Ferrer. I would recommend it without hesitations :-)

“Absolutely lived up to expectations”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 June 2010

We arrived in Alcudia from a big family celebration in Palma and got what we really needed, a short stay in a calm , quiet hotel. The room was perfect, at the side of the building. A swallow sang his/her heart every morning on the wire just outside! The hotel is within the walls of old Alcudia, just a short walk away from the main street of the old town. Maria, the manageress, could not have been more friendly or helpful. She recommended places to eat and gave us directions to the tourist office, buses etc.
The breakfast is great, fresh local produce, fruit, yogurt, ham, cheese, lovely bread baked by the owner's mother every morning, eggs cooked as you prefer, freshly squeezed orange juice. It's hard to praise it enough.
Our bed was very comfortable, the area was very quiet yet so close to everything. We had a lovely stay and Maria was so helpful on the last day. We had a late flight and did not need to leave Alcudia until about 5 or 5.30 p.m. We asked if we could leave our bags in the hotel but Maria offered to let us keep the room until we needed to go as it was not required until the following day. So we were able to go shopping, have lunch in a gorgeous little garden in a hotel called Ca'n Simo ( the restaurant is called Arca de Peter, I think)and then go back to our room in Cas Ferrer and have a rest, then a shower and off back to the airport. We thought it was wonderful.
Having never been to Majorca before and being prompted to go there only because of the family celebration we are really glad that we did in fact visit. We are delighted that we found this little hotel and the best part for me is that it is a former forge, hence the name "Cas Ferrer", the blacksmith's house. My great grandfather was a blacksmith!

“the most amazing place”

Nou hotel is the perfect place to be if you like trendy hotels. The location is amazing, the town is perfect. However, you must rent a car if you go there and to have plan to go around as this hotel is not on the beach and there are no nice beaches on walking distance.
I am the type of super trendy and picky person and I love boutique hotel. I wasn't too sure about this one but now i can say that totally surpassed my expectations. we stayed t poletia room and it was more than amazing.
Maria is the most helpful person and we had amazing time. I strongly recommend this place to everyone. I couldn't stop looking at it and enjoying it. It's for very trendy, classy people that enjoy ary design.

2 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 July 2009

the staff:: the owner is a nice guy, but maria is just acting nice.i orderd a secound drink for breakfast and she said some bad words about me in spanish...haha...but i speak spanish so: no she is just mean.
i would not go there the prices for the room incl vat are to much!!

Good afternoon.

First of all, we feel so sad that your hotel stay was not as satisfying as expected. It hurts us.

As we did earlier by mail, we would like to invite you again to spend another night in our place, so as you can get a real and positive image of our hotel.
We received very good feed back from most of the customers who have visited our hotel. Even that we still try to improve it every day with the positive comments and learn from our mistakes.
We believe that your experience in the hotel must be a misunderstanding or a timely matter and that's why we would be very happy if you could enjoy this room that I propose.

Also I would like to clarify some points that you wrote and they are not exactly:
1/ One of the points in our hotel is the peace and quiet, so we have placed special emphasis on the soundproofing of the rooms. Specifically in the room where you were is a sandstone rock walls of 60 cm., double glazing "climalit" glass and a soundproof door of 10 cm. I remember one client who was in this room and she once remarked that "it bothered her so quiet." In addition to the soundproofing of the rooms, the location of the hotel is very peaceful.

2/ The towels are usually changed every two days and if the client requests it, or leave them in the bath, are changed daily. The towels we use today are from August 2010. Every two years at the latest, we renew all linen and towels.

3/ As you know, at breakfast time we use to serve breakfast all coffees, juices, drinks that customers request. The same happens with breakfast food that is replenished until closing time. We consider breakfast as an important moment, as a nutritional and social fact. Therefore we take the time to offer a wide and varied assortment of the best Majorcan products (many of them home-made by my mother and other just bought at the bakery of the village) and also Spanish dishes (fruits, juices, pastries, breads, olive oil, sausages, ...). We also use the social moment of the breakfast to give daily recommendations and suggesting excursions, beaches, restaurants, ....

4/ The starting point of our project it is certainly the hotel staff. Those who work in the hotel we love our work and enjoy it. We like to see how our customers enjoy the stay, we love to serve and share with them our secrets of the island, we are glad to see them that could enjoy the best of the holidays and that many of them come back year by year to the hotel, not as clients but as friends.

“A lovely hotel...”

We stayed at the Cas Ferrer for 7 nights (16-23 May). We had the Pollentia room (first floor) which had plenty of space for us - very well designed and with modern, contemporary good quality fittings. We had a great welcome from Maria, who also explained the TV / DVD / home cinema equipment (although we only used the TV briefly during our stay).

There is a first floor open air terrace with sun loungers and tables / chairs which we used to chill out on, and the overall design of the hotel public areas was great, with a really nice feel to it.

The breakfasts were excellent with a wide variety of local Mallorquin freshly made specialities available. On the one day we needed to leave early for a day trip, we were provided with a 'picnic' breakfast which was great.

Maria was very helpful and provided general information about Alcudia and various tourist activities and destinations in the vicinity, plus some favourite restaurants, and helped with reconfirmation of our return transfer to Palma airport.

The hotel has a library of both DVDs and books in various languages, and we used one of the books to do a couple of local walks (one on the Alcudia peninsula and another one to the Boquer valley from Puerto Pollensa).

We found the hotel had a lovely atmosphere and we hope we can arrange a return visit at some stage.
