We visited for a 5 day break in October as part of a group of 6, 4 of which were cycling (including my daughter) my husband and I were non-cyclists. The hotel is lovely, spotlessly clean with very spacious bedrooms and bathrooms, it also has a great games room with pool table, darts, board games and computer games, with a convenient honesty fridge filled with wine, beer and soft drinks for you to enjoy.
Sarah and Steve are lovely people, they are very helpfull and attentive and nothing is too much trouble for them, resulting in a calm, relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. Sarah's home cooking is fabulous - her cakes and desserts are to die for, you have a great breakfast to start the day and brilliant dinners to end the day - all really enjoyable and very good value for money.
Steve is a great experienced cyclist and exceptionally knowledgable on the area, ensuring that riders enjoy the routes he suggests and discusses with you the night before, whcih means your all clear on what your doing and where your going. We had an issue with one of our bikes, he was on hand to check it out and made sure it was ok to ride - no trouble for him at all. Steve also runs the Tourmalet Challenge, he drops of riders at the bottom of the climb and times them up, motivating and encouraging and always willing to share his expereince with riders of all capabilities, we all think he is awesome!
As a non cyclist it was equally enjoyable, we went along with Steve each day and he offered tips on places to walk to and things to do, collecting us on the way home where we normally ended up round the pool relaxing with a cool glass of juice that Sarah always had ready for us when we got back - perfect!
great holiday set in rural France with access to all the great places of the area, it would be a little tricky to get about without a car or Steve as it is a small village, but a great base to explore the region as it is close to lot's of interesting towns and places to visit.
