“Exactly What I Hoped For”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2010

Upon arrival you are welcomed by the beautiful sprawling grounds of a true French chateau. We enjoyed evening walks around the lake, horse back riding and discovering the farm complete with llamas and an ostrich. It's Normandy location provides easy trips to popular sites including Utah Beach, Mont Saint-Michele and charismatic seafood restaurants in Blainville Sur Mer. The chateau itself is full of history and old world French charm. The staff are professional and attentive and personable. The food and wine are comparable to ANY five star establishment and is plentiful, a true French experience. I enjoyed my time at the chateau so much that I recommended it to friends for their wedding. They took my advice and had the most beautiful and fun wedding ever! I will return to Chateau de Canisy as often as possible.

“Chateau de Canisy, its owner and staff provide the ultimate French vacation.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2010

The chateau has so much character, that the building itself is a joy. Combined with the first-class staff, delicious meals and exceptional wine and calvados, Chateau de Canisy provides a unique and unforgettable vacation. The group meals and stories about the chateau's history made every breakfast and dinner a real treat. The grounds are beautiful, and although the town is small it is quite charming and easy to explore. Canisy is secluded and allows for great relaxation, but also close enough for day-trips to the Normandy beaches, Saint Lo, Bayeaux and more. We will definitely be back!

“Fantastic place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2010

My wife and I had our wedding at the Chateau in September and had an absolutely spectacular experience. We spent three days at the Chateau and wished we had stayed longer. The Chateau is very charming: a truly hidden gem. The grounds and lake are stunning, especially on a sunny day. The service was impeccable and top notch. Given we lived in the US at the time, we had to rely on the team at the Chateau to help us with the organization of the wedding. They did a fantastic job. We can't say enough positive things about this place. We will definitely come back!

“The finest hotel I have ever visited”

I went on a trip over Europe with friends, and a friends dad rented the entire chateau for us via a timeshare. We felt like the kids in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe - all alone in a huge mansion, wanting to explore it all. Each room is fantastic and the grounds are out of this world. The staff will set up drinks on the lawn or in the parlor; dinner is exquisitely prepared (although the fish was a little bland), and everything you look at has its own story.

The only sad part about the stay was that we could only stay for one night. I don't know if I could afford to stay on my own, but I would love to come back someday. It is like a fairytale.
