“Good property, nice beach, excellent food, spacious suites”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 September 2011

We have spent 7 nights in this property with our 20 month old kid. We booked family suite (two separated rooms) with All Inclusive.
Staff - perfect, friendly.

WiFi - extra cost, 1 week card - 20EUR. But the connection was very bad. From 20.00 till midnight you have no chance to get on-line!!! We vere recommended to go to reception where the signal is better!

Room - spacious. Well equipped. The baby cot was terrible - dirty, smelly with too soft and hight mattress.

Food - All Inclusive - good variety, excellent taste and freshness!

Beach - sandy, very close, just few steps from suite.

S´albufeira park - nothing for real nature park lovers.

Shopping - TERRIBLE! 50% of shops were closed/empty, the rest was very old looking more vietnamese looking market than typical Spanish shops. The only "real" shop is the VOSS which sell top end market brands - nothing typical.
For shopping - go to neighbouring Alcúdia.

“Excellent experience!”

Stayed in this hotel with wife and 2-year-old kid for 12 nights in mid-June after a bad experience in a neighbor hotel. It was great.
The suite was spacious, fresh looking, well equipped, comfortable, functional and very clean.
The entrance and lobby were great to look at. The outside is surrounded by big beautiful trees and gardens. The swimming pool wasn't top notch, but who cares when your right on top of the beach with greatest blue-green warm calm waters? Just perfect location. Every thing from supermarket to restaurant or pharmacy is at walking distance. The surroundings looked very nice and safe.
The staff was very good in all aspects, helpful, competent, extremely nice.
We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel. There was a lot to choose from, a few great things, most were good-to-average and a few not that that great. As there is so much to choose from you can always count on a good meal. The best ones I had in this kind of hotels. Drinks are payed separately.
There a lot of activities for kids and grownups, like sports, dance, games... Although we didn't took advantage of most of them as they were for older kids.
The only disappointments I can recall were the lack of an elevator and the gym, which consisted only of static bikes, but that's hardly a deal breaker for a summer vacation.

Bottom line: Excellent hotel, good value-for-money, tremendous location! Highly recommended!

“not that great”

this is a german based hotel (german company) so tv, menus room cards ets in german. bit of a premier inn feel. efficient, clean and to the point but no warmth or that feeling of going the extra mile. staff courteous but no more. am female and went with my 2 girls for a few days.. weather was rotten and as it was awful so there's nothing to do, beach bars and restaurants were closed due to weather and indoor pool was mobbed and not heated. it was freezing, the baby pool had standing room only.. the food was great, restaurants large and clean. we had a 'suite' luckily not a double, but the rooms are modern and well equipped. just didnt rate the staff or quality of the hotel. weather didnt help.. depends on the quality you're used to

“Lovely Hotel shame about guests”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2011

Stayed in the iberostar playa de muro last july, after origanally booked albufeira park. we were told that our room was double booked we would get a free upgrade to playa de muro and as we know the area we jumped at the chance. Although the hotel was lovely we had to stay in the smaller building next door which was nothing to do with the main hotel and had no lift, but the room itself was very large and very clean until you start eating food and then the ants come out to play. we compromised the ants for the lovely view of the sea from the balcony and also the lovely view of the rubbish bins next door to the hotel which we wanted to stay in, but the good news is they empty the bins every night around 1am so a good nights sleep is always going to be disturbed.
The hotels guests tend to be middle class german french and spanish who have very high opinions of themselves and don't like to mingle with other guests or their children are not aloud to play with other kids which was ashame because our children love to mingle, kids club was poor hotel staff were not the most friendly and don't expect to get a good old fry in the morning unless you like grilled frankfurters and what i assume was bacon but could pass for cardboard.
To wrap things up it was a location on the beach but was badly let down, i wish i had stayed in albufeira park.

“Great hotel, only let down by slightly arrogant management”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 January 2011

The only reason this hotel isn't my first 5-star rating is because management here decided to cancel the kid's mini-disco, without warning, bringing our little boy to tears. Despite sending a letter to management (in Spanish) while at the hotel, no apology was received. Other bad points: the location of the hotel isn't that great either, about 2 miles from Alcudia proper. The road outside the hotel is lethal...a dual carriageway with no crossing, so be careful...typical Spanish urban and road planning! However, there are lots of non-descript local bars and restaurants around and a couple of tatty rip-off shops across the road (watch out for the shop across the road -- think it was a SPAR--selling out of date products). The gym is also pretty rubbish.

Everything else about this place is fantastic! The beach is out of this world, so too is the food and the entertainment. All of the mostly German entertainment and Star club staff were fantastic, although overworked and undervalued by management. We especially loved the special touch when Smiley the dog came to our room to welcome us on arrival. Our little boy was going on about Smiley for weeks afterwards! The rooms are very spacious and modern, and the food is better than any in the 5 or so similarly marketed 4/5 hotels we've stayed in over the past few years, with a very good mixture of Spanish, Majorcan and international foods, cava a fresh patisserie at breakfast and a good variety of show cooking. It was substantially better than the food in the Playa de Muro hotel next door, and a much better atmosphere too.
