We booked a self catering apartment in mid October, but after a very poor meal at the cafe over the road on the first night, we upgraded to half board. This was a great decision as the kitchen facilities in the apartment were quite poor, but the breakfasts and dinners at this resort are absolutely incredible. The food was wonderful and they clearly work very hard to keep up a very high standard.
The staff were friendly and helpful mostly, although they don't always go out of their way like at some other places. I was impressed with how quickly and easily they were constantly switching between Spanish, German and French though. Marga, on the desk was especially friendly and very nice with the children.
I thought the staff in the restaurant concentrated a lot more on efficiency than friendliness and I was afraid to stand up to get a dessert as, if the table was unoccupied for a few seconds, they would clear away the drinks you'd just paid for.
The pool was nice, but was a bit too cold for me and perhaps could have had a couple of features for the many children there. There was pony riding at the hotel twice a week or over the road every evening and there was a small play area.
Most of the guests spoke German, which made no difference to us, but if you want to leave your children in the play-club, that will be the main language used. We wanted to be with our kids, so it was fine for us. I know there's the old complaints of towels on sunbeds, but there were loads free at this time of year and there was also a sign saying beds couldn't be reserved, so I would've just moved a towel if it came to that.
The beach was clean and the water warm, the shops were close by and handy, there are several places to eat if you want to be away from the hotel. The main town is easily reachable by bus for just over a euro.
Everything was very clean and of good quality. There was also a doctor there twice a day, who cost a fortune, but was helpful.
