Well i must say from reading other reviews on the hotel i had to check i had the right one !!!!
We booked a weeks holiday at the hotel continental park last July just for a week as we were away on our main holiday during August, we paid £650 each and our 4yr old son went free.
As it was only a 3star we did not expect that much, just a pool, beer, wine and food was all that was needed.
The beach and shops are just around the corner 2/3mins walk, but far enough away that you don't get noise from the main road.
The staff were more than help full !! anything we asked for it was no trouble, the rooms were clean and basic and not noisy !! The food was much the same as you would get in any 3 star hotel on any of the costa resorts, it was always hot and plenty full and a good selection.
We sat next to a table who moaned the whole time about everything !! 2 plates each of chips, beans, cheese and half a dozen bread rolls. "How can anyone eat this foreign rubbish ?? we cant wait to get home even the sun is hot"
we found this very funny !!! but not as good as the entertainment, these staff work very hard every day with something for everyone. The shows they put on were worked on well and always well received.
My wife played bingo for the first time and won 75 euro ! then our son danced at the child's disco or fun club.
This was a good all round holiday and i think value for money, we have just booked the same week for next year as a second holiday. If your easy going this hotel will be fine, if its chips you want they even do that but also a nice range of Spanish food also a children's station that they could help them self too.
Like i say i have based my review on past stays at 3 star hotels and not a 5 star hotel !! You only get what you pay for, but would also say above average here.

Myself, my partner and our 15 month old son went on our 1st family holiday here on 22nd September. Being reccommended by the travel agent we travelled confidently.

We are not fussy eaters and don't expect 5* luxury, but the food here was diabolical!!! I couldnt make a meal with what was there and had salad every time! Luckily my son likes plain pasta, cold green beans mixed with onion, and carrots. Other than this there was fish stew with the bones in (which nobody ate) or some kind of meat (a guess which kind as often there were no labels). Really foul, making us have to eat out and spend money we hadn't planned on. We were promised a childrens section of the buffet - not open. Only half of the buffet section was used.

Entertainment?????? The entertainers arrived an 2.45pm and left after a game of darts or shuffleboard at 3.15pm. At night the mini disco lasted 5 songs. My son loved it and this was the only entertainment for him. It starts at 8.15pm so we had to keep him awake to take part. The Thomson rep kindly told us on day 6 that there was a soft play area downstairs!! You have to ask for the key from reception, we went once, to find a dark room with toys covered in spillages and dirt. No thank you! The evening entertainment was ridiculous and we like holiday resorts such as Haven in the UK, but these were just stupid! We looked forward to the parrot show, but the lady rang in sick! I played bingo which cost 5 euros, then I realised I was playing for 7!

Yes the walls are made of paper, you cant get to sleep until everyone on your floor is quiet!

The beach is only a few minutes walk away and is gorgeous, we spent more time here as the pool was made of small tiles and all the grout was mouldy. The maids worked hard and tidied our room every day with fresh towels too thought they were tiny.

The self service drinks were great and when we used the bar the staff were fantastic and very friendly towards my son.

We had a lovely holiday as we didnt spend much time at the hotel. Alcudia old town is beautiful and there is more going on in C'an Picafort where there is a nice promenade and bigger choice of restaurants & bars. The sea is shallow and one of the nicest beaches is Playa de muro.

But the hotel....NEVER AGAIN!

Good points:
The Continental Park is in a good location, you can walk to the beach in less than 5 minutes, it’s very near the shops and restaurants but is on a quiet street so there’s no traffic noise. The rooms have baths in them, the beds were firm and the air conditioning worked well. The All Inclusive bar is well stocked with a wide choice of drinks and some cocktails and there are free basic ice creams and slush puppies. The Entertainment Staff are enthusiastic, great with kids and not too pushy.

Bad points:
The rooms themselves are noisy, you can easily hear even quiet conversations / TVs in nearby rooms or in the corridor.. If someone has a shower next door it sounds like it is coming from your bathroom and when chairs etc are moved on the floor it makes a really loud noise that travels a long way. Basically don’t plan an early night or a lie-in. The beds are firm, but they have waterproof sheets on them so the creak strangely when you roll over and we found them very hot as a result. There is no hair dryer in the room and you have to pay for the safe.

We really did not like the food at all, in our opinion it was by far the worst quality of food we’ve had in an All Inclusive of this star rating. Without any exception the food at lunch and dinner was either deep fried, baked in the oven, or over-cooked frozen vegetables. There is always a soup, a basic salad bar and up to 8 hot trays, an example lunch: mushy mixed veg, pasta, deep fried battered broccoli, chips, deep fried spring rolls, a fish stew (reappeared at dinner as no one ate it), dried out pork slices in something like bisto and a mix of tomato, onion and frankfurters. We decided to eat out a few of times, you can get a nice pizza for around 8-9 Euros in local restaurants. The breakfast is fine, it is the same every day, and there is a small selection of fish nuggets, chips etc out during the day in the bar. Some people were taking food from there into the dining room at lunch to create a different meal.

The fire escape on the outside of the building was blocked by two bed frames being stored on it, I complained to management and they were moved, but there is another fire escape that is enclosed so it made me wonder if that might be blocked too, and why the hotel was so lax with safety.

Overall:
If you think you would like the food and you plan to be up quite early anyway then this hotel is probably a reasonable bet as it is a good location, but check the prices as there are other nicer hotels in a similar price bracket in the area.

It is stated that this hotel is just 100 metres from the beach. Believe me, it is more like 400 metres.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and the entertainments team were very good and very hard working. A special mention must go to the nice Dutch girl Ilona whom I am sure worked the hardest and was always happy and smiling.
There is a shortage of bowls in the dining room and sometimes had to use disposable polystyrene ones. Also only seen plastic teaspoons.
The rooms are average size for this type of hotel as long as there are only 2 of you. It would help if the bunk beds were removed if they are not required.
Meals had plenty of choices and the snackbar was always worth a visit.
A good idea is the 50 cents deposit on the tumblers, it keeps the tables and areas clear.
Also very good was the self service for beer,wines and soft drinks.
People have mentioned the state of the carpets but seeing the number of people being there in a season they were not too bad.
I am lead to believe that it is closing in October for a complete overall.
