Stayed in this really nice hotel from 21-28 October 2011, last week it was open in the 2011 'summer' season. My wife and I are often away during this time and lots of hotels are in the process of preparing to close down for the winter - I'm pleased to say that it wasn't at all obvious that this was the case here, the staff behaved and reacted as though it was still peak season! The hotel is organised in 3 blocks (no more than 3 storeys high) around the main pool area, with a connecting path onto the beach area. The double room was well appointed, with marble flooring throughout, a balcony (with table & chairs), decent sized twin beds, well stocked mini-bar and bathroom with over bath shower (although the bath was very narrow and I kept hitting my elbows alternately on the screen and wall mounted shower gel dispenser). Nice touches were a small bottle of local apricot liquer to welcome us and chocolates each night. Unfortunately, as the season was cooling down, the hotel switched the centrally controlled aircon onto heat, which meant we melted for the first two nights, then they provided us with a portable electric fan to keep us cooler. The restaurant food and service was absolutely 5 star and could not be faulted for eaither breakfast or dinner - service from Encarnita and Stefi was particularly attentive and friendly. The only real negative was the fact that the pool area seemed to be a popular haunt for the local mosquitos (possibly from the nature reserve across the road or from the daily watered lawns and plant beds) - when we came back, we brought a collection of almost 50 bites with us, including ones on the sole of my foot and one of my wife's eyelids! Haing said all this, I would probably recommend it as a decent choice for an 'autumn break' for a week.
Room Tip: Higher floors seemed to suffer less from insects.
Ask for a pool or ocean view, not one overlooking...
