We stayed here 21/10-28/10 and had an excellent time.
We were upgraded on arrival to a ground-floor sea view apartment (620), which was perfect for us with small children. The accomodation has a twin/double bedroom, entrance hall, bathroom with bath/shower, small kitchenette with 2-ring hob, fridge, microwave, sink, and a lounge area with sofa beds that convert into nice little beds for kids. TV with BBC 1 and 2 and ITV1. Everything was clean and comfortable. Daily maid service. Air-con and heating - cant comment on the air-con, it wasn't hot enough to be needed, but one day we returned to discover the maid had put the heating on and it definitely worked!!! (Note: no kettle in the apartment if you are desperate for tea/coffee either take a travel kettle or you will be boiling a saucepan of water).
Out the patio doors to a small patio with table and chairs, and then out to 2 sun beds. From there it was about 50 yd walk down to the beach.
Half-board tariff gives buffet-style breakfast and dinner. Plenty of choice and variety. Some lovely fish dishes, lots of fresh salads and freshly baked bread. Although the hotel was far from busy we were impressed at the frequency the buffet was replenished. Waiters and waitresses were friendly and efficient.
There are 2 swimming pools - 1 main outdoor and a smaller pool covered off season. In the main building there is a spa (adults only) which is free of charge for guests to use.
You have a small kids play area and a kids club run by the hotel, and a mini-disco every night at 7.30pm. Cabaret at 9pm was mixed, but good fun overall. Hotel bar is nice, and not overly expensive - €3.40 for a pint/€11-15 for a bottle of wine.
The hotel is right on a spotlessly clean sandy beach, leading to shallow and very safe sea. There are chargeable sun beds and umbrellas on the beach, but the hotel lawns lead right to the beach and has free beds to use. Hotel also provides beach towels FOC that you can swap every 2-3 days.
At the end of the drive from the hotel is a square with 3-4 bars, a SPAR and an english pub. A few minutes further on there is a Burger King, cash machines, chemist etc etc.
Alcudia is 10-15 mins away on Bus Service #2 - €1.25 per adult single - and the bus leaves from the main road 2 mins walk away from hotel. Alcudia has a nice sea-front area, but also a lovely old town centre within the old city walls.
c45-60 min bus transfer from Palma. Our room wasnt ready on arrival, but there's a large luggage storage area (with showers/towels if you wanted to freshen up for a late departure).
I'd struggle to think of some real negatives... one night my pasta was lukewarm... on arrival the covered swimming pool was very cool, but it warmed up during the week...
We were there the last week of the season so I imagine this resort gets very much busier in the summer; however for an off-season break it really was excellent.
