“If you have family with kids, go fo it”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 September 2011

We spent 1 week All inclusive here in end of August. We have chosen VIVA BAHIA base on our previous experience in VIVA MALLORCA. We go every year for relaxing, seaside holidays. Our holiday this year went great, we did not have any problems - Mallorca is clean, organised, safe.

To the property itself. It is rather small complex, ok for a week, can be boring for longer time. On the other hand, everything is very close. Our preference however goes towards rather larger complexes with more entertainments options. The location on the beach is fantastic, the beach is beautiful, the sea was nice and warm and give you nice option to if you get bored by pools. Please note that this is public beach and you have to pay 8 EUR a day for 2 sunbeds and umbrella - if booking for longer they reserve the place only for you. Advantage. Compare to VIVA MALLORCA it is smaller and not that nice, but on the beach.

The rooms: are fantastic - large apartments with all you need. We booked privilege apartment with private garden. Please note that they don´t face to the pool like in other Viva hotels but outside the Viva complex. If you want pool facing privilege apartment you have to book the one with jacuzzi - I wouldn´t bother. The initial disadantage of not having direct pool acces turned into big advantage - quiet and very relaxing stay. Comparing to Viva Mallorca I would rate the bed quality as higher.

Pools: the main pool is smaller but never had problems with finding free beds. The usual German habbit of puting towels to the beds at 5 AM does not happen here. Perfect. The kids pool are the best we have experienced. From kids pool, thought the pirate boat to the kids area in main pool. Congratulations to Viva - this is what I call entertainment for children. The water was nice and warm - in kids pool could be a bit warmer but was still ok.

All inclusive: they still don´t know how to do it. Only 1 bar available during day, no takeaway option in the evening, too slow table service - and very annoying if 10 waitress run arounfd you without noticing you. Sodas and ice cream are on selve service, rest per order. Food was ok, quality, well prepared but without soul. Nothing to remember. Also I miss the all day snacks available in other AI resorts.

Animation: Rubbish in our opinion. Evening entertainment the worst we have seen.

Other pluses: Free wifi in lobby works quite well. Bike rental in the hotel. Close supermarket and ATM. Lots of fun just outside hotel area for kids (horses etc). Public toilets clean. Fantastic child playgroung with trampoline, kids castle and the jumping castle. Kids never get bored here.

Other minuses: no minibar in the room, you always had to go and bring drinks in the evening but in glasses - no possibility to bringing 3 bottles of something from AI. As a no-family couple I would be annoyed by the amount of children. Even thought there is adults only pools it is close to kids pool. Small complex with 3 storey building brings lots of shade in afternoon.

Would I recommend it? Yes if you have children go for it, they will love it! If you are looking for party, all-inclusive holidays go somewhere else.

“Excellent choice for families”

We'd happily stayed at the Viva Bahia previously and we were pleased to see that it keeps improving. The apartment had been refurbished since our previous visit - lots of space, microwave, kettler, toaster, flat screen TV etc. It had no bath but the walk in shower was perfect for a family beach holiday.

The evening entertainment was bit hit and miss and some of the meals were better than others (we prefer room only - breakfast and lunch are easy in the apartment with local supermarkets, and we varied evening meals between the hotel terrace watching the shows and wandering up to the nearby restaurants). Apart from that, I would struggle to find any negatives.

A key factor to me is that the Viva Bahia is on the beach, whereas many of the other hotels in Playa de Muro are the other side of the road (Viva Blue, Grupotel, Gaviota etc). Of the 2 hotels with similar location either side, Alcudia Pins seemed very busy and not as nice to me and Iberostar is more expensive I think. So to me, this would definitely be the best hotel in this area. Apart from the beach location the swimming pools are fantastic (main pools, pirate ship with slides and adults-only relaxation pool), there is an excellent childrens play area. The cleaning is excellent and as I say, there is plenty of space in the apartment.

If you hire a car the towns of Pollensa, Port de Pollensa, Soller and Port de Soller (the latter 2 by train and tram from Bunyola) are highly recommended.

“Good hotel, fantastic location, two low points”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 August 2011

Stayed here in July 2011 for 14 nights on All inclusive basis.
Very nice rooms, seperate bedroom and new bathrooms. Good facilities for children, playground, bouncing castle, minigolf, superb pool area with pirate ship etc. Swimmingpools were a bit cold, could not stay in for long.
Location is great, and what a beach! Take a walk on the beach to C'an Picafort, a nice walk! Food is good and there is lots of it.
One low point was the lack of service attitude amongst the waiters. Maybe this is due to the hotel beeing all inclusive, but it is anyway something the management must address. Very slow and not attentive service during nighttime. Waiters did not look up, difficult to get in contact. Would prefer self service actually.
The "Flying .... something" group that entertained most evenings was horrible. They sang only, and not with very pleasant voices. But thankfully, it was possible to distance yourself from the scene, to the nice sofas outside the lobby area.
I would really recommend this hotel to families with children!

we stayed here october half term, it was very quite as it was comimg to the end of season, however the hotel was fantastic. the food was excellent, couldnt fault it. I was glad we had the all inclusive,

The location was a bit on the quite side but that didnt really bother us as we just wanted to chill with the family, although the weather was good it was to cold to go in the pool, but the sea was nice and warm, the hotel backs on to the beach, there are three pools, adult onlly area with lovley double sunbeds kids pool with fantastic pirate ship and slide, and then the main pool,

The staff were excellent curtious and polite, nothing was to much trouble.

The room we stayed in was fantastic, we had a family room as we was a party of 5 me my other half and 3 kids 11,12,7 the room was huge, main living area with kitchen with 2 sofa beds and flat screen tv, balcony bathroom, twin bedroom with another balcony then the creme de la creme was an adjoining room leading to mine and my partners room that had double bed, tv our own kitchen area shower room and balcony there was so much privacy it was lovley ..

overall fantastic hotel enjoy!!!!

Room Tip: would reccomened all inclusive!!
