“A little piece of heaven!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

We wanted a two night get away during our stay in Sydney with our family. What a find, thanks to previous trip advisors we took their advice. Kemey's is quite a unique experience - a house with furnishings that has been built in wood by the hands of the owner Robert, a real craftsman, and he does all the cooking too! Each bedroom has a suite comprising lounge with woodburner and kitchenette, luxury bathroom, large bedroom with luxury dressing gowns to earplugs, your own open air verandah for dining. You take meals in your quarters and a basket of breakfast fare is delivered to your door at the pre-booked time. You can order evening meals of 3 courses and these are delivered to your room - just remember to bring your wine. Table tennis, tennis, books, wifi, DVDs are all available. You will need a car as remote setting but well worth it to listen to all the wild life. A romantic and tranquil getaway. We will be back!

Room Tip: We had the tennis court room which overlooks the 'tennis court'.

Thank you Jollyginger for your kind words and for taking the time to record them with Trip Advisor. Our huge satisfaction comes from having appreciative guests, who enjoy the facilities, food and ambience that we are able to provide in our wonderful forest location. Yes we do seem to be miles from anywhere, however as you know we are only 10 minutes from Morisset, our local town.
Best wishes, Robert & Jenny

“The Perfect Stay!”

Such wonderful, nature and wildlife on your doorstep!, a serene and peaceful outlook from every suite, with a very warm and cosy interior - with your own fire! The perfect getaway, totally secluded, romantic, relaxing and rejuvenating. The hosts are delightful, friendly and very caring. Breakfast and Dinner's were amazing - either in the suite or at the table. Within perfect distance of the Hunter Valley Wineries and Lake Macquarie destinations.

“An absolute treat”

My husband and I stayed here for one night only. What a treat this place is! The rooms are impeccable and private, the breakfast delicious and the service very good. We are planning to go back for a full weekend, and enjoy some more of Lake Macquarie and the Hunter Valley.

“Beautiful, Peaceful getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2009

What a nice place to stay. The Morisset area has quite a few of these, but none quite like this one. Very personal and attentive service, as you could only get at a 3 room retreat. The rooms are all well separated, and you very rarely see anyone else (all 3 rooms were booked on night 1), you feel as though the place is there just for you. Had fun using the tennis court, table tennis, and were treated to very nice, and filling breakfasts in the morning's. For the price, you won't find better.

I should mention the room too! Large bedroom, with ensuite, good, powerful shower. Nice lounge room, kitchenette, and large balcony (Tennis court suite).

Great place and will certainly be back, as Im in the area weekly.

“Peace in the Mountains”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2008

Kemey's Mountain Hideaway is one of those secret places that everyone who has found it feels is totally their own. The visitor book is crammed with messages from couples who felt they just had to propose there (so watch out!), families back for the tenth time, people who have come from Britain, Germany, the US, Japan, and weary Sydneysiders on weekend breaks to peace - its only 1 hour 40 mins from the city. A lovely drive up and into another world... The hosts, Robert and Jenny, are very welcoming and can tell you absolutely everything about where to go, what to see etc in the area --- Lake Macquarie, which is full of boats, hike trails and no doubt great restaurants, but having found Kemey's we stayed there the whole time! They don't impose on you though, so you can easily stay in your own suite of rooms the whole time. We had our own sitting room, kitchen/diner (fully equiped), big double bedroom and spa bathroom --- lots of fluffy white towels and v hot water...

The best bit for us was the wildlife - there are wallabies that hang around in the garden and glorious parrots that will come for birdseed. Its absolutely in the forest with its own creeks and marked trails. You can have dinner there and most of the delicious food is grown in the garden. The kids can feed the ducks and the horse...Oh yes, and theres Robert's famous fluffy omelettes for breakfast that rise like souffle from the pan!
