We spent two nights at Castello di Sinio. What a treat and a great way to end our vacation. The Piemonte area was amazing; I am now a bonafide italophile! Denise, the owner, was working away in the lobby area when we arrived and was always very helpful. Actually, all the staff were super helpful, and after travelling through several areas in France, Switzerland and Germany on our trip - the friendliness seemed a little overwhelming in comparison. Not a bad problem to have I think. The hotel has been modernized on the inside, but has retained the charm of the stone walls and wood beams. The bathroom was chock-full of amenities including all sorts of creams! After a lovely day spent enjoying the fanastic wines of the area, it was great to come back and relax by the pool and enjoy the last bit of the sun. Breakfast was always excellent, and we were able to sit outside in the garden both days. Dinner at the hotel was quite the event. HUGE portions and always very tastefully done. Denise had also prepared a very thorough packet of information with all sorts of titbits on towns to visit and restaurants to try out in the area.
The town of Sinio itself is very small and did not have much of anything going on, but I we did see the some locals playing what looked like boule or bocce one evening.
Absolutely worth the price, very romantic and highly recommended.
