Grasmhor is in a quiet location less than 10 minutes from Portree, down a single track ‘B’ road – an ideal location for exploring Skye particularly the Trotternish Peninsula as well as the west of the island. We had a lovely view from our room (Woodend) with some particularly good sunsets – we were blessed with sunny weather during our 6 nights on Skye!
Tim's passion for photography is evident from the prints which adorn the walls of many of the rooms. These and other prints are available for purchase and make a great souvenir of a visit to Skye.
Our room (and bathroom) was reasonably spacious with a comfortable bed. A slight drawback was the thin wall with its lack of sound proofing which meant noise/voices from next door were slightly intrusive. This was only an issue our first night because the room was not occupied our second night. Therefore if this is likely to be a concern we would suggest guests consider requesting the downstairs room (Glengrasco).
Good choice of breakfast. We would normally opt for a cooked breakfast but we recommend Grace's ‘continental’ breakfast, which included a substantial plate of assorted fresh fruits, ham and cheeses with yoghurt and a croissant.
We would rate Grasmor in the 4star category of b&bs and its very reasonable room rates reflect this. All in all this is an excellent place to stay.
Room Tip: The downstairs double possibly the quietest room
