The family and small staff at Smuggler's Den did such a great job I didn't want to leave.

Rosa's cooking is just what people say it is. "The best in Belize as far as I'm concerned." But remember to make reservations for dinner. The rooms are clean and very cozy. The locals and people living in the area were very friendly and made us feel welcome.

If you want a quiet friendly atmosphere and hate crowds than you have to stay at Smuggler's Den in Consejo, Corozal District in Belize.

We found this place by accident at the end of our travels in Belize. We wished we had found it sooner.

Ray & Rosa have a nice spot overlooking Chetumal Bay. The rooms are very clean, the Restaurant is one of a kind and Rosa's cooking is out of this world.

If you like quiet and a low volume area than this is the place.

My husband and I actually got married at this site and the owners treated us with first class service. The beach is beautiful during the day, but at night it is simply spectacular, it was not lit from overhead but by lawn lights which made it even more romantic. Truly the Smuggler's Den has found a special place in our hearts and we can't wait to return!

We stayed at Smuggler's Den this past winter "2005" and just loved it. The place sits right on Chetumal/Corozal Bay, there's a sandy beach, Chetumal Mexico is just minutes away, and the place is owned and operated by a small family."Meaning there's personalized service". The service is very friendly.

They only have 4 Bungalows at the moment but I hear they have plans to expand. The newest unit "Casa Kyle" is a 2 bedroom house complete with full kitchen, sat tv, Air conditioned rooms and wireless internet. The units all sit with-in 100 ft from the water.

The roads getting you there from Corozal can be a little bumpy, but that's part of the charm.

All meals are made to order by "Rosa Wagner" one of the owners and she has customers coming back for more! Both locals and Tousist.

If you want quiet, secluded and value for your money than this is the place for you.
